Shared bedrooms are not a good idea. But if you are going to, please put a portable HEPA air cleaner in between the roommates. Or next to each bed. 
Plexiglass stops droplets. Not aerosols.
A far better idea is to move all of that equipment outside.
Or remove all of the windows, AND put portable HEPA air cleaners between each machine.
