@Hadithoftheday Surah Kahf
It is chapter no.18 of Qur'an.
The surah is named after the Cave al-Kahf in honor of the alleged piety of the sleepers in the cave.
In this Surah, the story of the Companions of the Cave (Kahf),story of Musa A.S & Khidr, the story of Zulqarnayn have been discussed
@Hadithoftheday There are 4 important themes in this Surah:
1. Trial of Faith – People of the Cave/ Ashabu Al-Kahf (9 – 26)
2. Trial of Wealth – The story of the rich & the poor (32 – 44)
3. Trial of Knowledge – Musa A.S & Khidr ( 60–82)
4. Trial of Power – Dhul-Qar-nayn with Yajuj Majuj (83–98)
@Hadithoftheday The Story of the people of the cave:

This story is about a number of young men who were driven out of their homes because they believed in Allah. They ended up in a cave where Allah made them sleep for many years (309 lunar years which is 300 solar years).+
@Hadithoftheday When they woke up they felt they had slept for a day or half a day. One of them went to the town to get some food disguising himself thinking that the people would recognise and harm him. Only to find himself amongst a different people. +
@Hadithoftheday The people of the town were amazed at his appearance of this man and the old coins he was using.

The story shows us how Allah protects the righteous who believe in Him, no matter how hard their situation is.
@Hadithoftheday There is no proof regarding their number.
Allah says in Qur'an:

"They will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog - guessing at the unseen; ++
@Hadithoftheday & they will say there were seven, & the eighth of them was their dog. Say, My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument & do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone." (18: 22)
@Hadithoftheday 2. The Story of the man who owns two gardens – A Trial of Wealth:
This is a story about a man who owned two beautiful gardens, but he became arrogant and told his friend “I am greater than you in wealth and have more servants and attendants and children!!” (Quran 18:34)
+
@Hadithoftheday The man forgot to be thankful for the bounties Allah has bestowed upon him, hence Allah destroyed his gardens.

This story is a lesson to those who take worldly matters for granted and forget that all that they have is from Allah & He is capable of taking it all away if he wills
@Hadithoftheday 3. The trial of Knowledge- The story of Musa A.S and Khidr:
This story is about Musa A.S and Khidr.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Once Musa A.S stood up and addressed Bani Israel. He was asked who the most learned man amongst the people was. He said: “I.” +
@Hadithoftheday Allah reprimanded him as he did not attribute absolute knowledge to Him (Allah). So, Allah said to him: “Yes, at the junction of the two seas there is a slave of Mine who is more learned than you.” Musa A.S said: “O my Lord! How can I meet him?”
+
@Hadithoftheday Allah instructed Musa as to where to find the man who was known as “Al-Khidr”

Musa A.S goes on a journey with Al-Khidr where he learns that Allah bestows his knowledge on whoever he wishes. Nobody should ever feel he/she is the most knowledgable,as all knowledge belongs to Allah
@Hadithoftheday 4. The Story of the Dhul Qarnayn (A Righteous King) - A Trial of Power:
Dhul Qarnain was a righteous and just king, who traveled the lands from West to East. The Qur’an mentions three of his journeys.
+
@Hadithoftheday On his last journey, he reaches a place between two mountains where he met a tribe of people. They asked him to build a wall between them and the people of “Ya’juj and Ma’juj” who were causing mischief in the land. Dhul Qarnain agreed to do so.+
@Hadithoftheday Dhul Qarnayn was not proud of his achievements, the Qur'an mentions that after he built that great wall, “He said: ‘This is mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it level (with the ground), & the promise of my Lord is ever true’.” (18:98)
@Hadithoftheday The Prophet ﷺ said:

“One who memorized the first ten verses of Surah al Kahf will be secure against the Dajjal” (Muslim)
@Hadithoftheday Abu Sa'id al-Khudri R.A reports that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday (Jumu'ah) will have illumination from the light from one Jumu'ah to the next.” (an-Nasa'i, al-Baihaqi, and al-Hakim)

Umar ibn Al-Khattab R.A was the 2nd Caliph of Islam.
One Very touching Incident happened during the days of famine, which leaves a lesson to the rulers & every one in an authoritative Position
When it was the year of the famine, Umar R.A took pains to ensure that adequate relief reached all people, and that there were no persons in the city who went to sleep hungry.

One night as usual Umar R.A went on his round. He was accompanied by his slave Aslam.
As he strolled from street to street, all was quiet and the people seemed to be asleep. Umar R.A thought to himself, “Thank Allah, there is no one in this city whom the famine has afflicted.”

There came to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a woman from the tribe of Ghamid.
The woman approached him and said, “O Allah’s Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me.”
The Prophet’s eyes filled with grief and he turned away from her, dismissing her from the gathering.
The next day, al-Ghamidiyyah returned and once again publicly confessed her crime. “O Allah’s Messenger, why do you turn me away?”
"By Allah, I have become pregnant!”
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ answered, “If you insist upon it (the punishment), then leave and return only after you give birth.”
Months later, al-Ghamidiyyah returned to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, with her baby wrapped in blankets.

Mus'ab ibn Umair R.A was a child of a very rich family. From his childhood, he lived in luxuries of life.
Especially as a handsome young man, he was lavished with special love & attention
In fact,he was unique in his luxurious tastes
He wore the most costly clothes and changed them twice a day. His shoes used to be the costliest available at that time.
He was also fond of wearing fragrance. A whiff of his fragrance was enough for the people to know that Mus'ab is passing by.
With all that luxurious lifestyle, he was very intelligent and had an elegant personality with keen mind and mastery in eloquent speech. Because of these qualities, he was moving about among the influential circles of chiefs of Quraysh at a young age.

@Hadithoftheday Sayyidah Fatimah R.A.
All the children of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ apart from Fatimah R.A died during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Fatimah R.A died after approx 6 months after the death of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Fatimah R.A was the youngest daughter of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
@Hadithoftheday Fatimah R.A was described as the "Leader of the women in Jannah". (Bukhari).
The Prophet ﷺ was reported to have said that, “The best women in the entire world are four: Maryam, Asiya - the wife of Pharaoh, Khadijah - and Fatimah R.A.
@Hadithoftheday Before the passing away of Prophet ﷺ , He ﷺ informed Fatimah R.A that she will be the first of his family to join him.” So she wept. Then he said, “Would it not please Fatima R.A to be the leader of the women of Paradise or the women of the believers?” So she smiled.’
