I wonder why the topic of "Ukrainian collaboration with Nazis" is so popular in the West, and no one mentions way more active and broad collaboration of Russians with Nazis (I don't speak here about Stalin-Hitler pact). THREAD:
Dozens of thousands of Russians used to fight for Hinter as SS or Wehrmacht soldiers. Most know formations were: 1) Russian Liberating Army (ROA), up to 130,000 soldiers in 1945, under command of General Vlasov, a former Soviet Lieutenant General, decorated with Lenin Order.
ROA used the "St.Andrew Flag" as their ensign, now used by Russian navy.
Two SS divisions: 2) 29th Russian Liberation People's Army (RONA) division of SS, up to 8,000 ppl (1st Russian SS division); 3) 30th SS division (2nd Russian SS division), up to 4,400 ppl
4) Division "Russland", up to 10,000 ppl. They used as their ensign the "tricolour" flag, nowadays Russia's nation flag
5) 15th Cossacks SS Corps, up to 30,000 ppl, under command of General von Pannwitz 6) SS-Sonderregiment (special regiment) Warager, up to 2,500 ppl 7) Russian Corps in Serbia (formed out of ethnically Russian emigrants)
There were also attempts to collaborate with Nazis on structural level. For example, in November 1941 - August 1943 former Soviet authorities on the territory of Russian regions Bryansk, Oryol and Kursk tried to create a "Lokot republic" under Nazis permission, with 581,000 ppl
This collaborators' entity had its Nazi-controlled army RONA (Russian Liberating People's Army) with up to 20,000 ppl. On the photo: the "head" of "republic" with his RONA army.
Many Russian orthodox priests welcomed Nazis and offered their prayers to Hitler:
Do cases of massive collaboration mean, that (in 1941-45) Soviet Union or Russians were allies of Hitler? No. Does this mean Russians should be brandmarked as "collaborators"? No.
So please stop repeat the stupid idea of "Ukrainian collaborators". It is dishonest and wrong. END.

While Moscow weaponises its narrative "Nazi Germany had fought against (Soviet) Russia", it were Belarus and Ukraine, which were mostly occupied and destroyed by Nazis. Only 3% of modern Russia was occupied by Nazis, compared to 100% of Belarus and 100% of Ukraine. THREAD
In the modern German discussion, all the good anti-Nazi actions done by the USSR in WWII are "Russian", while Ukrainians get the role of "collaborationists". Yesterday newspaper @DIEZEIT publishes a propaganda story by Putin, and editors (!) name Soviet soldiers - "Russian".
Among all nations of the USSR, Ukraine had suffered most losses in WWII in percentage to population: 16,3% (Russia: 12,7%). Over 75% of Ukrainian losses were civilians. gdb.rferl.org/90A46705-EC03-…
1/2 One of my flashbacks from my former life. I visit Kosovo for the first time, entering the country from Serbia. Being told a lot of bullshit about Kosovo in northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Even in my 1st visit, I understand, it is bullshit. I go further south to Pristina.
2/2 I meet great people, see their fight for freedom, understand it. I fly back to Berlin from Pristina. A border guard sees my than Russian passport, doesn't want to put a Kosovo stamp. I insist he does. "Sir, you will have problems with Serbs - I don't care, I want this stamp".
@Petrit this was my first Kosovo trip 15 years ago, and Kosovo is my favourite European country since that time. I am so happy I have visited it several times - and wish to do it again.
In Copenhagen, Danmark, a monument to Ukrainian 19th century's poet Taras Shevchenko had been vandalised: painted with Russian national flag colours, anti-Nato and anti-Ukrainian slogans, Ukrainian embassy in Danmark says. Russia plays today vs Denmark at @UEFA Europe Cup today.
Shevchenko was a Ukrainian slave (there was slavery in Russian empire until 1861). He was lucky: his talent helped him to find friends among poets and artists, who have collected a huge sum of 2500 rouble (about 45 kilo silver) to buy him out in 1838 (his master knew his value).
Several people injured amid explosion and a fire in a 5-stores living house near Kyiv. There is no information, if there was a gas explosion (most likely) or something else (like an explosion of illegally stored ammunition, which also cannot be excluded):
Doesn't look like a gas explosion for me. Normally (in a case of gas explosion) we witness a complete demolition of stores above the explosion site. And here we see a strange diagonally damage with the explosion obviously in the 2nd floor and no damages straight above.
I regularly hear a mantra "Ukraine can't be a Nato member, there's war, and occupation". Well, this is not true. I'll try to explain (THREAD) 1) Sure, having Ukraine in Nato would demand a lot of responsibility from other Nato members. This is what many countries want to avoid.
2) But this is quite another argument! It can be your choice not to be responsible for peace+stability in Europe. But say this openly. Once again: the war in Ukraine does NOT mean, UKR cannot go into Nato. 3) Look at Germany. Decision to accept GER into Nato was taken in Oct1954.
4) In Oct1954, Germany was OFFICIALLY in state of war with the USSR, with thousands of German POWs in Soviet camps etc. About 30% of German territory was officially occupied by the USSR. There question of the border between Germany and Poland, CSSR etc. was open...
A Ukrainian radical leftist Volodymyr Ishchenko openly welcomes "confessions" of Belarusian political prisoner Raman Protasevych, made under tortures. He completely ignores threat of capital punishment for Raman. How can this person be a fellow of @tudresden_de and @AvHStiftung ?
This week, Belarusian dictator Lukashenka has openly threatend Raman Protasevych with a capital punishment. Raman's girlfriend is taken hostage as well - and we know that Belarus uses rape as a terror tool against women. How may one attack Raman and other prisoners, knowing this?
Raman was presented by Belarusian propaganda TV making his “confessions” with clear signs of tortures in his wrists. We know that cutting blood supply to hands with handcuffs is a typical torture in BY. Is it ok for you @tudresden_de and @AvHStiftung to finance a fan of tortures?
