Britney had a few episodes many years ago. Male stars literally attack people and still get to live their lives. Instead she’s been trapped on a money-making machine, forced into such misery that it would harm anyone’s mental health.
The world got obsessed with Britney, aged 16. Then as she grew up and wouldn’t conform to our fantasy of her, we punished her. This is what happens when women are demonised for expressing anger.
Forced to take medication, forced to have an IUD, forced to earn money she never got to spend or own - and now she basically has to say she wants to sue her family to escape. Father wanted his 40 year old daughter made entirely obedient to him for cash and the law allows it
So (the Times) #Britney expressed herself to court in 2016 but got nowhere. Even now her lawyer told her not to say anything about being forced to work in case her rehab facility sued her (so she hasnt capacity to make her own decisions but can be sued?).
Britney’s father keeps saying he loves her. Word love used to perpetuate his control over her, never letting her have a break, threatening her that she won’t see her kids, taking her money. The law allows him, society turns a blind eye because we can’t see women like B as adults.
