JAN. 6 DEFENSE BLAMES MEDIA:

Attorney for Jan 6 defendant Doug Jensen says "crowd hysteria" coupled w/"information that was promulgated over internet & news, brought about event that would never have happened

He says Jensen is "intelligent man" .. "he got taken!"
Ahh.... but moments later his lawyer says Jensen didn’t even know where he was on Jan 6. “He thought he was at the White House”
Interesting back and forth here. Defense lawyer says Jensen deserves credit for not pushing past the solitary Capitol Police Officer (Eugene Goodman) on Jan 6

Prosecutor responds: That’s because Officer had to keep retreating
Jensen is seeking release from jail. Judge is not ruling today

Judge is hearing this argument right now....

Judge says McHugh appears to have worked hard to get to the front of mob, riled up crowd (using megaphone) so much so that he had them in a chant response. She asks defense lawyer if McHugh was a leader on Jan 6

Latest arrest by US Justice Dept sheds new light on the terror members of the media faced on Jan 6

Shane Woods is charged w/ menacing media on East front of Capitol, then tackling photographer who was working

But there's more ... much more

Feds allege the mob heckled, taunted and spit upon members of the media outside the Capitol
Other media outlets had to abandoned their equipment.. as the mob circled and destroyed what was left behind

There were reports of attempts to set some of the equipment on fire

Standby. More news coming. The first sentencing hearing in a Jan 6 case is about to begin. Lower level case. But our first sample of how judges will handle *some* of these cases
Anna Morgan Lloyd (49 y/o of Indiana). Guilty plea to count four of her charges. Unlawful picketing/parading. Max sentence is six months. But Feds aren’t requesting jail. Standby by more ....
As we reported on @nbcwashington last week, prosecutors are recommending three years probation. Morgan Lloyd is seeking community service and a fine. Let’s see which way the judge leans ...
