Good morning! I’m OTG here in Harbor City, where a “Comprehensive Cleanup” (commonly called sweep) is scheduled. There are a lot of rumors that this particular one may be the full encampment.
Looks like these concrete pieces, which were moved weeks ago by LASAN and are still blocking ADA street access are still present. It bears mentioning that the reason for dismantling tents given by LASAN and the city is ADA accessibility on sidewalks.

That should read “often given” - my apologies. City operations *often* bin tents on the sidewalk and the reason is often given that they are blocking ADA access.
Signs left over from a press conference several days ago are still present. The first few vehicles belonging to the city seem to be arriving: one LASAN garbage truck as well as a flatbed truck.

The Harbor District District Director (CD15) driving by - activists from @StreetWatchLA are assisting residents of the Harbor City encampment with moving their belongings in anticipation of a large cleanup.
9 LASAN vehicles(10 if you count the construction vehicle), 1 LAPD cruiser and 1 environmental services truck appear to be staging on 255th and Vermont for the operation.
Things beginning. Additional LAPD units have arrived, LASAN workers are now at the location of the encampment.
One LASAN worker taking photos, says “is this garbage or an encampment?”
LASD deputies here- this is a new development and I’ll follow up on reason and mission here, they have not been present at any comprehensive cleanups here previously.
Not getting much of an answer, but the deputies have left, and apparently were not members of the HOST (Homeless Outreach Services Team)
The operation is now underway- this week is fairly unique in that there are significantly more members of LASAN working, and rather than working from one end to the next there are multiple crews all working concurrently.
Tarps, tents and structures that are left over currently being thrown in the dumpster.
One man, Fanon, remained in his tent. LAPD officers currently kicking some of his belongings out of the way while talking to him.
Fanon was escorted away, and is currently sitting nearby while talking to LAPD officers. The structure and tent he was in before is now being slashed with a knife.
Correction on reporting #: there are still LASD deputies, but they’ve moved to the other side of the road.
Daniel, a resident of the encampment is describing his stated experience of not having a clear place to wait with belongings during the “comprehensive cleanup” where LASD will not allow him to wait with his belongings across the street after LAPD removed him from the encampment.
LASAN moving through the entire encampment and are about halfway through. LAPD now looking at a car which is in the encampment area.
Odds & Enda: Looks like this car situation is going to take some time. Found this jammed in my car window. Image

Good morning! I’m here at a protest and counter-protest at WI SPA- recently a viral video of a woman upset at a trans woman attending the spa and being naked was released, which led to the story being featured on many programs like Tucker Carlson. One right leaning man is leaving
Here’s some b/g from @CBSLA - losangeles.cbslocal.com/2021/06/30/kor…

It should also be noted that @_preciouschild , who streams at protests received death threats from several accounts.
Several more right wing protestors have arrived- currently the numbers stand at about 40 supporting the WISPA business, with 3 protesting the business but the protest against the business is in a few hours

Good evening! I’m here at the Newton Police Station, where a press conference is being held “to demand answers and accountability for the detonation of a reportedly ten pound explosive Wednesday…” according to the @CMTYCtrlPolice Instagram page.
One woman, who says she is from the South LA community says “If they really cared for the community, they would have handled it a lot better,” touches on what she feels has been bias in the community.
Crowd is about 30-40, including media present. LAPD officers in front of the entrance to the building. Several LAPD cruisers on a nearby corner with “riot gear,” helmets on dashboard.

Park Rangers now at Brooks Avenue, one block past Park. Some words between activists and city workers. Just overheard @PplsCityCouncil tell a city employee “if there’s cops, people are gonna freak out.”
Parks & Recreation setting up a tent for intake.
One woman, Chanele, being offered housing. She stated to me that she had been waiting since January and accepted. I’ll follow up.

Good morning! I’m here in Venice Beach, where according to signs posted throughout there will be a major cleaning starting at 7am. On the flyers, it lists “zone 1” as the location - part of several different “major cleanings” Image
A new addition to the area where larger clusters of tents exist: signs which state “personal property remaining in the park after the park closes may be removed and impounded and may be discarded by the city if not claimed within 90 days of the City’s removal…”
Venice Beach is definitely an interesting place during the morning: some members of @UrbanAlchemyUA are doing some trash cleanup on the north end of the boardwalk as residents begin waking up throughout.

Wanted to address the detainment and citation today in a different thread. As we arrived at this location, we were greeted by an LASAN worker who initially told the group of 3 (myself included) - apparently I was rolling accidentally.
LASAN agrees that a location off to the corner is okay. Cool. Sight line on what’s going on, off away from the trucks. Genuinely an okay deal. I’m not sure what happened afterwards - @FilmThePoliceLA has footage of the gap between this video and the next one.
Again, there’s some gaps which @FilmThePoliceLA has footage of and will provide. Group is told they’ll be arrested if they don’t leave immediately, begin walking away and a @StreetWatchLA volunteer detained. Then, @FilmThePoliceLA . Finally, my phone thrown to the ground and me.

Good evening! I’m OTG on Huntingnton Beach to check out Adrian’s kickback. There’s several men in Viking helmet beer serving hats and fireworks. I’ll report more soon.
There’s *at least* thousands of people here
Indeed, #adrianskickback is very alive and well here in Huntington Beach. Many many people in the street, crowding cars.
