Most of the Indian startup with roles named as 'Growth Marketer' are such a scam & managers suck at designing career path of such folks.

Hence, high attrition in #growth ecosystem. Revealing some more scams in the thread. 👇

A Growth person who doesn't own Retention is a scam.

A Growth person who doesn't understand Product, Attribution, Full funnel is a scam.

A Growth person working in sales is a scam. Sales folks are not 'Growth Folks'.

A Growth person only doing performance marketing is a scam.

In my early 20s, my first gig was at a social networking app backed by Facebook Start program.

Did a bunch of mistakes. Actually a lot.
A thread on the learnings. 👇

1. Never ever do an incent based affiliate campaign. Never ever ever.

2. Never scale acquisition, if your retention is screwed. ❌❌❌❌

3. Retention of the first 1000 users is not equal to Retention of next 10,000 users.

4. Marketing Communication Automation tools are underrated. Implement them at early stage.

5. If B2C, You don't need a blog writer at frst. Get a kick-ass copywriter first. Hire comics as copywriter if you can. They make someone laugh, they can make someone click.
