This does not cancel the MVP project but is a huge setback.

It takes a village to kill a pipeline.

It’s really worth reading the EPA letter to the Art Corps:

“EPA has identified a number of substantial concerns with the project as currently proposed, including whether all feasible avoidance and minimization measures have been undertaken, deficient characterization…”

“…of the aquatic resources to be impacted, insufficient assessment of secondary and cumulative impacts and potential for significant degradation, and the proposed mitigation.”

EPA singled out the Upper Roanoke watershed, “which will experience 200 of the project’s proposed 719 stream impacts, and the Middle New watershed, which will see nearly 100 impacts.”

Reminder that MVP would be 303 miles long, carry fracked gas from W Va and southern VA, and require three toxic compressor stations. It will bisect steep, highly erodible terrain, cross 1,108 bodies of water and 235 miles of forest.

Solidarity with all those committed to fighting this #fracking zombie to its final demise. Which is now in sight. Onward! ✊
