I've built an audience of 175k+ followers:

• Instagram = 133k+
• Twitter = 32k+
• Tiktok = 14k+

Here are 5 things you SHOULD DO & 5 things you SHOULDN'T DO as a content creator:
1) Have a uniform brand

Have a consistent brand across all your social media platforms.

You want your brand to be easily recognizable regardless of what platform someone's on.

People like certainty & stability–use the same username, images, and bio descriptions.
2) Overlap your audience

Once you built up an audience on one platform, work to have them follow you on other platforms.

-Link to your YT channel on Twitter
-Put your IG handle in your TikTok bio
-Have a swipe-up link on Instagram to your Twitter page
3) Batch your content creation

It’s more effective to focus on the same task than to switch tasks.

If you’ve written one thread, it’s easier to start the next one than to switch to recording a YouTube video (you’ll have to set up the camera, mic, and other equipment to start).
4) Keep a smile folder

A Smile Folder is a folder with screenshots of all the nice comments & messages you’ve received from followers.

It serves two purposes:

1. It will boost your mood when you're feeling down.
2. You can use it as testimonials for your products/services.
5) Focus on the process & not the goal

Goals are great to have but they don't do much for your growth.

Instead, focus on the process.

If you want to grow on Twitter, focus on sharing 3-4 amazing posts a week instead of setting a goal of gaining 3k followers a month.
6) Don't post anything you wouldn't want your mom to read

In today’s world, you must be careful with what you post because there’s a good chance it will live online forever.

Be smart about what you post, comment, or even write in your DMs.

Nothing is fully private online.
7) Don't get into arguments online

Some people enjoy starting fights or trolling, and other people won’t change their minds no matter what you say.

Don’t entertain people in either of those two categories. Just ignore them.

Be a content creator, not a content debater.
8) Don't forget your CTA in a viral post

If your post goes viral, take advantage of all those eyeballs.

Tell people to:

-follow you
-buy a product
-or join your newsletter

You’ve already done the hard part of getting people’s attention, now direct it while you have it.
9) Don't babysit your posts

Constantly checking how many likes you’re getting won’t make the number grow larger.

It will give you a dopamine rush but it's not productive. Only creating content will help you grow your audience.

Be a content creator, not a content checker.
10) Don't become addicted to the digital world

Social media companies have some of the world's top scientists working on getting you to spend as much time as possible on their apps.

Have a life outside of social media and make time for close friends, family, & loved ones.
That's it for now!

Did school kill your love for reading?

Let's change that.

THREAD: 5 Tips to get over your reading PTSD
1) Pick your own books

There's no assigned reading in the real world. You have the freedom to read any book you wish.

Read sci-fi, self-help, psychology, fantasy, business, bibliography, or any other genre you want.

Follow your curiosity wherever it leads you.
2) Experiment with different book mediums

You don't have to read those small and smelly mass-market books.

You can read new hardcover books, experiment with a Kindle device, or give audiobooks a try.

Try different book mediums and see what works best for you.

I talked with 5 content creators who each have 100K+ followers.

Here are 10 things I learned from them:
1/ Use keyboard shortcuts for FAQs & FULs

Create keyboard shortcuts for frequently asked questions & frequently used links.

This will save you time, but more importantly, it will save you the mental energy from having to constantly retype the same answers and links.
Here are a few examples of my keyboard shortcuts:

• twi = twitter.com/AlexAndBooks_
• podca = alexandbooks.com/podcast
• bestb = alexandbooks.com/bestbooks
• newsl = alexandbooks.com/newsletter
• youtub = youtube.com/c/alexandbooks
