Lots of talk today about men taking exogenous testosterone and a new company helping them do it.

I’ve looked into this area a decent amount and can say pretty confidently that it’s not the slam dunk it seems, and might make the problems worse.

Not something I’d ever take.
If your testosterone is low, that means something in your environment is messing up your normal hormone production.

You need to analyze your diet, lifestyle, exercise, skincare products, plastic exposure, air quality, water quality, and find the culprit.

If you supplement...
Then your body doesn't get the same signals to produce as much and your natural production will slow down FASTER.

Plus you didn't fix whatever was messing you up in the first place!

You just put a bandaid on it.
Please please do your research guys and think seriously before taking this stuff.

If you're in your 30s or 40s there are DOZENS of things you can and should try before taking such a risky measure.
Also, the idea that you should take exogenous testosterone to help our increasing infertility problems is ABSURD.

Exogenous testosterone is literally a male contraceptive: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
So in sum:

- Taking testosterone makes your problems worse long term.
- It'll make you (temporarily) infertile.
- Hard to stop once you start.
- We don't know the long term effects of continuous T supplementation like this
- You can fix all this yourself without drugs
And yeah I have a number of friends who invested in @HoneHealth so if I missed something here, I'd love to hear from them.

But I feel pretty strongly that this is a bad trend we really should not be encouraging.
@austin_rief @shl @packyM @APompliano @maccaw @ankurnagpal I'm curious why you guys are so excited about this company, besides the financials.
Also, were there other investors besides this list?

Because from a quick look none of them work in health or bio, unless I missed something
One correction: for men 60+ I think it's a different discussion, and the benefits might make more sense then.

I'm concerned in this case because Hone seems to be marketing itself as a miracle pill for much younger men.

The more I think about this the more it bothers me.

A bunch of tech influencers with no medical expertise should not be encouraging their huge followings to get on TRT.

It’s irresponsible. Borderline dangerous.
Especially when it seems like these promos were written for them with inaccurate scare tactics baked in.

30 year old men stop naturally producing “hormones”? ImageImage
Like @packyM you said they rebranded because “Hone is a destination.”

It didn’t have anything to do with the awful reviews for their old brand?

Alright, you know what, I'm done with alcohol.

It's addictive, toxic, depressing, fattening, and a big negative in my life.

If anyone *ever* sees me drinking alcohol again, I want you to tell me you're disappointed in me.
I don't have a serious problem with alcohol, but that's part of the problem.

It's disruptive enough I notice its effects, but not so disruptive that it's causing serious harm.

Which is why it's so bad: it can sneak in where a bit of drinking feels fine. But it's not fine.
Poor sleep, organ stress, extra calories, muscle repair, brain harm...

Missing years of my future kids' lives...

There are tons of downsides to continuing to consume it and no irreplaceable benefits.

Alright, so, time for a VERY painful story about how in my excitement about learning solidity yesterday I made a mistake that let someone steal $30,000 from me.

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
When you're doing Solidity development, you need some way to interface with the network to deploy contracts, the easiest way being through MetaMask.

So, mistake 1, I used my normal MetaMask account to get set up.
Then in order to deploy anything, you need to have your MetaMask seed mnemonic in your code somewhere so you can sign the deploy, etc.

For any non-crypto people: you need to put a bank password in your code.

And I used a bank account with money in it.

Something I've been thinking about with DeFi recently is how you could use yield farming & staking to diversify your investments across L1s / L2s while making some money along the way

👇👇👇
Say you're bullish on @0xPolygon, but you also don't want to stop buying into Ethereum.

Well one option would be to move some money over to the Polygon network, buy a combination of Matic and Ether, provide those as liquidity on @SushiSwap, and then stake your LP tokens.
By doing this you're buying a combination of Ether / Matic so you have upside if either or both go up.

You also have some hedge if one goes up but the other doesn't.

And you're earning Sushi / Matic along the way by providing liquidity to SushiSwap.

So... is there a baby formula that isn't full of industrial seed oils?

Because I started doing research and wow this is not good.
Here's a list of the "8 best baby formulas" that pops up when you search for "best baby formula"

Every single one has at least one type of seed oil, and many have corn syrup as well:

Here's another guide focused on organic, "safe" baby formula.

Aaaand it's all seed oil again:
