FACT CHECK

Islamic Jihad spokesman Abu Hamza (pictured), was interviewed at length by @AlJazeera yesterday. "During the fighting, we received information that there were children in areas in Israel which we wanted to attack. Because of this, we ended up aborting these missions."
Iranian-backed terrorist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad indiscriminately launch rockets at Israeli civilian centers.

These rockets are notorious for their inaccuracy. Islamic Jihad and Hamas simply don’t know where they will land.
For example, one such rocket fired during the fighting in May killed a Muslim father and his teenage daughter in Lod.

And in a recent interview with @Stone_SkyNews, Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar specifically said that one of #Hamas' “advantages” over Israel is the fact that it shoots on densely populated, "crowded... civilian" areas.

The @NYTimes has posted *yet another* video showing how the lives of Gazans have been affected by the war between Israel and Hamas in May.

Not once in the video are viewers told of the Hamas policy of hiding behind human shields.

#InconvenientFacts
During the video, parents to a newly-born baby mention her name: Seif al-Quds.

Had the Times translated the name and provided context, viewers would have known it means "Sword of Jerusalem," the name Hamas gave to its rocket bombardment of Israeli cities, towns.
Then there's the use of Israeli officials "said."

There's plenty of evidence, established by journalists and independent bodies, that Hamas embeds its military infrastructure in civilian districts, hides its personnel
and command HQs in hospitals, mosques and health clinics.

"Just see how many are dead on each side," some say, "the numbers don't lie."

Since “numbers don’t lie,” here are some statistics Israel's detractors may want to consider:
16 – The number of years since Israel removed every man, woman, child and soldier from the Gaza Strip, only to have the territory consumed by Hamas and transformed into a forward-operating terrorist base.
20 – The number of years that Palestinian terrorists have been firing projectiles at Israel from the Gaza Strip, with each and every intentional attack on civilians constituting a war crime.

All this damage was done by *shrapnel* from a rocket fired by terrorists in Gaza that landed in Israel.

Israel's defenses are good, but they are not impenetrable. That's why it must act to defend itself by taking the fight to the terrorists in Gaza. Image
Remember this when Israel is accused of needlessly starting a war.

Remember that Hamas issued an ultimatum to Israel earlier this week, or it would fire rockets. Hamas fired rockets; Hamas started this war.
Remember that neither the legal dispute in Sheikh Jarrah/ Shimon HaTzadik, nor Israel's response to rioting at the Al Aqsa mosque constitutes a legitimate reason to go to war, much less to commit clear war crimes.

The media must make this clear.

Israel has just come under a massive barrage of rockets from Gaza.

Moments ago, MILLIONS of people in all these towns and cities heard the red alert siren and had to scramble for cover.

Hamas claims that it fired "130 rockets at Tel Aviv" in the space of 5 minutes.

This is the result:

Things are getting extremely heated between Israel and the Palestinians, both in Jerusalem and Gaza.

Here's what you need to know:

Hamas has been firing dozens of rockets at Israel, including at Jerusalem, over the course of the last hour.
Hamas had earlier issued Israel an ultimatum to withdraw all security forces from the Temple Mount and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood or rockets would be fired from Gaza at 6pm.
This came after a day of heavy rioting on the Temple Mount, with thousands of Palestinians using boulders, rocks and fireworks as missiles and chanting violent songs.

What is going on, @NBC?! This vile caricature of Hassidic Jews in @nbcnurses completely disregards the truth: Jewish law simply does not prohibit this. Doctors can break the Sabbath to save a person’s life, and food that is not kosher can be eaten in order to survive.
FACT: There is no prohibition in Jewish law on receiving a graft from another person, dead or alive.

#NursesNBC, you could have easily established this.
FACT: Jewish law makes very clear that we should take advantage of modern medicine to save human lives.

#NursesNBC, your Jewish characters are acting in contradiction with Jewish norms.
