Across my union networks I'm getting feedback that waits for test results is increasing, also seeing this in one LAs daily school cases update that I get to see. #edutwitter#JohnsonVariant
Also on the network's the app is pinging more often, but the time to isolate is a lot shorter. Ppl are getting 5 sometimes 3 days to isolate.
I think test and trace is struggling with the case load, means its probably going to get worse
We have a dip in testing, but cases are growing rapidly
Saw yesterday that in South Tyneside 21% of cases were coming back positive
If test positivity is above 5% then you aren't testing enough
I know official case numbers are always an underestimate but the scale of the underestimate could be increasing
I'm worried that while the data looks like growth is slowly, that might just be the data.
If there's an increasing lag for results then this would give the impression that the rate is slowly.
You might find that the line straightens once late results are added
This is what was happening in Sweden last year when it constantly looked like they were about to reach herd immunity, the curve wasn't flattening it was data lag
@halfon4harlowMP Not certain how they had to fight to be heard when they have been meeting with Tory MPs behind closed doors throughout the pandemic and are directly supported by the Telegraph and are part of a coordinated disinformation network #edutwitter
Reminder that UsForThem have had private meetings with Johnson and other ministers, @halfon4harlowMP also invited them to provide evidence to the education select committee.
1/ @bbcnickrobinson on #r4today
Fascinating how he treats a short interview with Sweeney of SNP.
Starts with opening
"No Freedom day for Scotland, masks wearing could continue for months"
1st question, "with cases so high should Scotland be relaxing at all?"
Tries to make out that Scotland is in a considerably worse situation than England, then "so Johnson is right it must be now or never"
The Tory Party narrative has become the baseline for truth, SNP getting level of challenge, how ministers just don't get
Then he raises a financial issue regarding 600k, wish Tory MPs would get questioned on the High Court judged unlawfully awarded contract to Public First
Then interrupts with finishing question, isn't there a massive conflict of interest qmwith chief exec married to the leader
"We have to go now because in September we plan on letting the virus rip through as many children as possible in hope of blunting a winter wave a few months later"
"Why are we doing this? Well one factor is the vaccine programme is starting to struggle, asking for help would expose this so to save face we will sacrifice peoples health"
They really don't like people talking about @LongCovidKids
These are the same people who have argued against masks in schools throughout, and many have supported astroturf UsForThem who get to be in the Telegraph several times a week.
"Important mitigations like hand washing and improved ventilation will remain"
What improved ventilation? How do they keep getting away with pushing this lie? #edutwitter
2/ Shows how out of touch Tory MPs are that a huge cheer goes up when GW says that social distancing will end in schools.
Do they actually believe the crap they read in the Telegraph?
3/ @KateGreenSU says she's relieved bubbles are going, asks about support for ventilation, evidence for removing masks and will children be vaccinated?
