Fun fact that fat people with anorexia all get diagnosed with Eating Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified, solely because we are at or above “normal” weight.
I had my first ED-specific therapy today, and was finally told I have anorexia.
It is extremely weird to be like “good, yes, thank you for acknowledging I am anorexic for the first time in my entire life” because like, yikes I’m anorexic?
But also wow, yes, I am actually anorexic, thank you for fucking noticing, I’ve only been anorexic for 28 years.
Anyway wish me luck, I’m getting treatment for my eating disorder for the first time in my life, and I’m anorexic

Also if you’re thin and have an eating disorder, please know that literally fat people all get diagnosed as eating disorder, not otherwise specified IF they can get diagnosed at all, which is extremely difficult in its own right !
*all fat people with eating disorders
Not every fat person has an eating disorder to be more clear!

This is 10000000% a whole fucking mood, especially that *every* event needs to be accessible, not just the ones where you know for sure disabled people will attend.
Throwback to earlier this year when a conference organizer called me and said -
- they hadn’t planned for accessibility because, and I quote, “no one had complained about it”
First, I was complaining about it, and second, whew boy is that not acceptable. They said they could ensure the session I was giving was accessible, but that not all of them could be.
That’s not okay!! Disabled people fucking go to things and not only deserve access but it is our literal *right*. It is unacceptable for it to only be offered after “complaining”.
We’re tired!! We’re all so fucking tired!! Do some of your own goddamn work!!
Okay here it is, Tory's steps to handling your nightmare inbox
You've got thousands (or tens of thousands) of emails to get through and it's stress inducing and also you might be missing important things, especially if you're job hunting or waiting to hear about a vaccine
This is for gmail (and for personal email, not campaign etc)!
#1:
Turn on keyboard shortcuts, things will go much quicker. And then USE the keyboard shortcuts: support.google.com/mail/answer/65…
#2:
What emails can you bulk delete? Anything from DoorDash, Amazon, delivery services. Walgreens. Do you get emails anytime you make a purchase over $20 or similar?
Search name, select all, and select all that apply (so it's more than the one page), and delete em
"Tory Cross said the lack of verification requirements is crucial to California’s commitment to vaccine equity.
“It’s really important... to be able to self-attest,” she said, noting that many lost their healthcare during the pandemic and might not have easy access to a doctor."
Many people lost their health care in the past year, especially people who had health care tied to employment, so wouldn't be able to get proof of their health conditions.
And of course, there's medical racism, for example, that makes it less likely for people of color to be diagnosed with these high risk conditions, despite being more likely to have them because of things like the environment, etc.
I see a lot of Californians not finding appointments with MyTurn - MyTurn is where I got mine but I also have a list of others that I planned to check, so here's the list!
1. I am beyond thrilled to see this incredible platform from @RebeccaLamorte - and I’m gonna break down my favorite parts. #CripTheVote
First though, come to Rebecca’s townhall on Monday, 7:30EST to discuss it! cutt.ly/r4nydisability…
2. Okay, let’s break this incredible plan down.
COVID-19 has decimated disabled people in the past year. @RebeccaLamorte poses the right steps to protecting our community, including demanding accountability and change for the nursing homes, especially with Cuomo’s cover up.
3. With the dangers and terrors of nursing homes and other congregate housing, disabled people have had to fight harder than ever this year to receive care at home. @RebeccaLamorte sees this and knows and plans to robustly fund programs that provide care at home. #CripTheVote
