Nobody want's to be a starving artist.

I've helped dozens of creators, coaches, and freelancers hit their first 5 figure months.

Here are 5 similarities that held them back:
1) Poor Positioning

Especially in the creative / information based niches

- Graphic design
- Web design/dev
- Writing
- Mindset / "life" coaching
- Self improvement
- Even some marketers (ironic)

How do you solve poor positioning?

By going deep instead of wide.
I'm a firm believer in building a "wide" (personal) brand

But having products / services that position themselves deeply in that audience

This happens with specificity

- Market research
- Customer avatar
- Understanding deep pains
- TALKING to your target on the phone
Pro Tip: Asking good questions to your target customer on the phone will provide the best market research imaginable. Take notes.

This is also an incredible bonus of building an audience. You have direct access to people that WANT to talk to you.

Build an audience.
2) Poor Offer

Another great reason to get on the phone with your target, to validate your offer.

To KNOW if its actually something they NEED.

That's the problem. People spin up offers that sound cool, but aren't needed.

They don't solve a BURNING problem in a starving market.
You are going to have a hard time selling a basic website to a niche that doesn't even need a website.

(You are going to have an even harder time if you (or they) can't send traffic to it to see a direct ROI from your work)

Doesn't matter how "conversion centered" it is.
You can still sell websites, but it will be difficult to charge high prices.

Not the WORST thing, you can still make good money.

There's just a better way of going about it.

You've done your market research (per above)

Now ask yourself:
What stack of skills / information will create the perfect solution?

Side note: This tends to come with experience - but can be accelerated with outside help like a coach or course.

The longer you work with a specific group of people + refine your skillset for them = $$$
3) Poor Value Ladder

Most solo businesses have:

- A digital / physical product
- A high ticket service
- Platform monetization / affiliate offers

If you have a high ticket offer, take part of it and productize it.

You should have testimonials to leverage already.
If you have a "masterclass" style product - turn it into a high ticket program / coaching offer.

If you have a micro-product - expand it into a high ticket offer.

Use different price points / angles for different parts of your audience. (Again, build an audience.)
4) Poor Action

This should be point number one, but most people just don't focus on what moves the lever.

Send DMs.

Every day.

Get on calls.

Help people.

Pitch your offer.

Refine.

Iterate.

That is your main focus if you are expecting clients to fall from the sky.
In terms of selling a product via your audience:

Interact with people that have your target audience.

Network with them and pay them for growth / ads.

Focus on growth, authenticity, and authority. If one of these pillars fall, all fall.

PROMOTE YOURSELF DAILY.
5) Poor Funnel

Once you've started:

- Landing clients
- Making sales
- Getting testimonials

You can start building out your funnel.

> Gain followers
> Lead magnet / tripwire
> Indoctrination email seq
> Low ticket sales seq
> High ticket sales seq
That is a very, very basic funnel - but it works and allows you to capture, nurture, and warm leads up

- Without you having to run them through the sales process manually -

Having an extremely basic funnel with decent copy is better than none.

You can always make it better.
Recap:

- Fix your positioning
- Fix your offer
- Fix your value ladder
- Fix your priorities
- Fix your funnel

Study:

- People you aspire to be like
- Human nature
- Influence and persuasion
- Practical spiritual teachings
- Psychology
- Funnels / sales processes
- Offer creation

Start:

- A blog
- Social account
- Email list
- Podcast
- Freelancing
- Agency
- Any cash flow biz
Then:

- Productize
- Pursue your interests
- Branch out to other socials/traffic sources
- Invest
- Use leverage to build other businesses
- Write about your learnings
- Do whatever the fuck you want :)
