“Those who served in the GOP have a greater burden to tell the truth about what their party has become. Those who know that the voter suppression laws masquerading as election integrity measures are solutions in search of problems have a duty to sound the alarm.” 2/
“The story of our times is understanding how one of the two major political parties became addicted to the same disinformation and anti-democratic practices it once rebuked in foreign countries and why its base has so eagerly embraced this disastrous pivot.” 3/
“The attack on our democracy, spearheaded by the ex-president and enabled by the GOP, represents the greatest threat since 9/11. In many ways, it is more difficult to defend against. After 9/11, no one called the hijackers ‘normal tourists.’ No one denied the horror.” 4/
“The fight against domestic violent extremism in our military, law enforcement and communities may be the most fraught counterterrorism effort in modern history. Untangling it from right-wing disinformation and propaganda will require constant vigilance.” 5/
This is a nice, short piece but I wish it included more reflection from her experiences w/in the GOP, such as how the GOP courted and encouraged religious fanatics. Also, Fox News didn’t suddenly become a problem under Trump. The desire to destroy Democrats was always there. 6/
What about what the Bush administration did to Don Siegelman? Trump did not spring from a vacuum. 7/ link.medium.com/IMPXVtuhXhb
I hesitate to bring it up bc @TheRickWilson is a valuable asset to the Resistance. But he worked on the Saxby Chambliss campaign against Max Cleland in Georgia 02. This was the first year GA used paperless voting machines & there was big red wave. What does he know or suspect? 8/
Does he have any thoughts about the use of paperless machines in Georgia that year and whether they were manipulated? 9/
10/ That election loss (which was unexpected) devastated Max Cleland. (Quote below is from Cleland’s book.) If Rick knows something, I would hope he would speak now. Because Democrats in general remain very naive imho.
11/ Rick made this attack ad about Cleland, a decorated Vietnam veteran and triple amputee. John McCain called the ad disgraceful, as did Chuck Hagel.
12/ Again, I hesitated to post this because I’ve even been on @ProjectLincoln’s podcast and I’d rather not be blackballed. They do great work. But if he knows more about the inner workings of the GOP than he’s let on so far (maybe he doesn’t), the time to spill the beans is now.

Before the 2000 election, Katherine Harris used a faulty felon list to illegally purge between 1100 & 12k properly registered voters from the voter rolls. This alone may have sufficed to throw the election to Bush who “won” by just 537 votes in Florida. tampabay.com/news/politics/…

Gerrymandering may have beaten voter suppression to the punch. How can we possibly re-win gerrymandered state legislatures?! We NEEDED to control Congress to counteract & survive this semi-cold civil war. We failed bc Manchin & Sinema suck. 1/
I really really recommend that the Democrats check to make sure the GOP didn’t cheat in Senate races. Based on exit polls, it is not obvious either way. We shld just check to make sure bc otherwise we have no other moves. 2/
Based on exit polls, we should have won the senate race in North Carolina - yes, despite the scandal. It was close. We shld check. Ditto Montana. I think I have this right - @JonathanSimon14 3/
First, vendors & officials lied about internet connectivity to voting systems. When the lie was exposed, @EACgov promised to ban the modems that enable such connectivity. Then they met privately w/ vendors & changed their mind. Now they’ve been sued. 1/ apnews.com/article/busine…
You can see some of the people who lied about internet connectivity in this preelection video that I prepared w/ producer @KateRosenberg4. 2/
