It shouldn't. The concept was originally "fairness," not "objectivity," which in and of itself is a concept which was created and weaponized by, you guessed it, the far right's agenda and pushed into policy by the Reagan administration

So as you can see, they took an established policy, turned it into a strawman, attacked the strawman using paid trolls and useful idiots, and got their disinformation campaign enshrined into policy to help them gain and consolidate power. Sound like anything going on recently?
