It’s actually the third..

What then are the most important skills needed?

Okay let’s look at it…
Firstly when we say “The ability of sell” what does that even mean?

Like a friend asked me while we were driving on 3rd mainland bridge

“Bruno, i hear you and the Oga’s at the top say learn how to sell, learn how to sell” what does it even mean..”

I thought for sometime
I probably replied with

“Being able to sell means to be able to convince, persuade, other people to take the desired action you want..”

It’s the closest thing to a super power–mind control

But then I got thinking

If I was to break down the art of selling to a 5 yr old
I would want to look at the components.. and in doing this, I realized

Knowing how to sell isn’t actually the most important skill

So let me explain.

Let’s start with the question

What makes people buy?

Why do people buy things?

Anything at all?

Two answers
But before I answer,

Have you seen the movie “Wolf of Wall Street?”

I loved that movie ngl

But Belfort “the wolf” always had a small role play he did

He’d pick up a pen look you in the face and say “Sell me this pen”

And almost everyone started the same way–the wrong way
They all started with the pen!


“This pen is an exquisite pen, blah blah blah blah”



Because when you want to sell anything to anyone

You need to understand

Why do people buy anything ?

I have distilled two encompassing answers to this question.
People buy things because

1. Because they WANT IT (not need it)

2. Because they CAN AFFORD IT.

So a good salesman needs to dig deeper..

Beyond the surface

Something that may not be clearly observable..

Which is

This thing I’m about to sell.. what does it solve? Or why
Do they want it?

The reason they want to buy it, is it a basic human need? Hunger, thirst etc


Seasonal–types of clothes

Because the answer to this is will help you understand the driving force in their decision making.
The reason people buy things is because they want to–it solves a pressing problem, it either helps them avoid pain, or achieve gain.

Makes them more money, saves them more money, time, stress, or gives them pleasure, security, status.

And lastly they can afford it.
This means that, before you begin to persuade anyone to buy anything..

You must know whether the person even wants what you’re selling

Because they just may not be your target audience..

So the number 1 important skill in making money online

Knowing what the market wants, why they want, where they want it, which psychographics they fit, etc.

And if they can afford the product you’re offering.

Research is the boring 20% that brings the 80% result of any sales message.

Research helps you say the right thing
To the right audience

At the right time

In the right place.

Research gives you a bullseye precision of your market

And makes your message address their pain points.

Only when you’ve done proper research then can you sell properly.

If you're not doing very well in sales these are two simple questions you can ask yourself

Everytime I struggled it was always down to these two things..

I also learnt them from being a preacher

There's a similarity between selling and preaching

Yesterday I was listening to a podcast by Grant Cardone..

And in a split second Grant said something so profound

I had to park my car by the road side

And think deeply about it..

I have been thinking about it since then..

So this is the story..
If you don’t know Grant Cardone

Quickly google him.

Grant goes to the house of a multi millionaire and he asks him to show him his asset

MM brings out his phone and shows Grant one of his account that has $430M
