Lord Ganeshaβs vahana( vehicle)is a mouse which symbolises wisdom, talent and intelligence.
Rat also represent ego ,desire and pride of the individual. Ganesha riding the rat become master of these qualities.
Lord Ganesha is the deity of Ketu graha in Vedic Astrology and Rat is associated with Magha Nakshatra (which represent ancestors & lineage).
