While doing some research in Dominionist Christian Twitter, I happened upon a popular blogger, Brad Salzberg and momentarily laughed at his ridiculous articles. Then I noticed how many Dominionists like his articles and amplify them across the nation.
It’s not that I didn’t realize that blatant racist rhetoric appeals to so many Dominionist Christians, it was a surprise that one who combines egregious “Big Lie” rhetoric is openly revered as an authority on PMJT and the Liberal party.
Reading some of his articles (which one must do to assess the veracity and integrity), it becomes apparent that Mr. Salzberg is a one man campaign to malign PMJT and LPC. Yet his articles are shared widely among the devout evangelical Dominionist Christian community.
So I thought I’d look him up. See what else he’s involved in within Canada.
Turns out he’s quite the far right activist. Founder and leader of Cultural Action Party of Canada. Listed as anti immigrant and anti Muslim.
He promotes anti immigrant beliefs and rallies.
From Vancouver, BC, he’s a well known far right provocateur whose main ambition is to remove PMJT from his role as PM and discredit the LPC party in the eyes of any supporters. So he’s very busy right now pumping out propaganda before an expected election call.
Typical articles include:
More BS. Brad’s been a busy saboteur at work.
Then I found this article from Montreal in French. Had to translate it. My French is rusty. But it presents quite an interesting portrayal of CAP and Salzberg.
From the article: “Among the thousands of supporters of defeated US President Donald Trump who smashed down doors and invaded the Capitol despite the presence of police on Wednesday in Washington were Canadian far-right groups.”
“Violent and armed far-right groups with strong roots in Canada and Quebec took part in the assault on Capitol Hill in Washington” on January 6, 2021.
“The III%, an anti-Islam militia with a strong presence in Quebec and the Proud Boys, a small group founded by the Canadian Gavin McInnes, were on the front lines of the insurgency and visible in several images.”
We know this information from other reports in US and Canada.
But did you know this? “The founder of the Cultural Action Party of Canada, a far-right movement in Vancouver, took advantage of Wednesday's violence to threaten Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on a social network.”
I didn’t. I wasn’t aware Salzberg had made a threat on PMJT.
Salzberg is credited with writing: "Will the chaos in Washington be replicated in Canada when Trudeau becomes prime minister for a third term online," asked Brad Salzberg. He'll be lucky if he gets through without serious damage."
A threat of violence towards PMJT & LPC.
A mere 6 months after an attempt to assassinate PMJT and his family on July 2, 2020 by a Q’Anon influenced man who stormed Rideau Hall fence with his truck and was found wandering the grounds with a few high powered rifles and ammunition, oh, and a manifesto.
Of course this threat was quickly followed by denial that it was a credible threat by francophone and anglophone experts extolling the virtues of Canadian exceptionalism. Perhaps they haven’t heard about the October Crisis?
Minimization of credible threats is dangerous.
Of course terrorizing Canadians into a tizzy about impending far right violence isn’t helpful either.
But minimizing Salzberg’s utterances is sort of dumb in the current political environment? Mais oui?
If LPC win the impending election, Brad Salzberg is confident a violent backlash will ensue.
Hey didn’t Erin O’Toole & CPC circulate rumours of election cheating right around the same time as January 6, 2021 US insurrection? Yeah. He did.
Kind of interesting that recently he’s been called out by his own party for arranging for 9 evangelical SoCon candidates in Canadian ridings. Helped by Steve Outhouse.
Do you think this may be related to Salzberg’s threat? One can only speculate.
Steve Outhouse is credited for helping Leslyn Lewis enormously increase her appeal across the conservative voter base. She already had the support of SoCons, but Outhouse helped her appeal to moderates as well.
Like he’s doing now for O’Toole in reverse. Outhouse is also helping SoCon candidates quietly get nominated.
Consolidating the SoCon vote in Canada.
But I digress… we were referring to the threat of violence from radicalized Christian nationalists if PMJT gets re-elected.
Well the threat of violent insurrection has been made.
Conservatives are appealing to SoCon voter base.
Known provocateurs are flooding Dominionist Christian Twitter (probably Facebook too) with inflammatory articles fomenting hatred of PMJT and LPC.
Hatred of PMJT is growing on the left and right. Based on drummed up scandals and completely false narratives to attack integrity and credibility amongst moderates. And enrage extremists on both ends of the political spectrum.
I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about.
Plenty of hired expert minimizers have voiced their opinion and provide that false sense of security to attach to our over confidence in Canadian exceptionalism.
I grew up in Edmonton’s inner city. And I mean inner city. For a while I lived on the fringe of downtown, in Parkdale. But moved to 96 st & 106A Avenue after grade five. Went to Sacred Heart church and school. When we moved, my mother had a new boyfriend/common law partner.
In 1977, McCauley and Boyle Street were highly populated with the working poor. Some of the older residents were Slavic (mostly Ukrainian) immigrants. Diversity was abundant. Italian, Ukrainian, First Nations and Métis, East Indian, and Chinese people lived in close quarters.
I don’t remember problems with cultural conflicts. Each cultural group kept to themselves & were polite & cordial to neighbours of differing origins. But everyone was poor/low income.
Except my mother’s boyfriend. He was 20 years older than my mom & owned a construction company.
Again NDP split the progressive vote across the nation. Particularly troubling is Saskatchewan. Combined there is over 50% progressives. And 40% conservative. That’s how conservatives win. Split the vote and win elections with a minority.
Every progressive stronghold has been effectively divided. BC/Territories favour NDP, but plenty of federal Liberals. Well over 50% progressive. Divided by NDP and liberal options, CPC has opportunity to win ridings with less than 30% of supporters.
Alberta predictably favours CPC. Progressives make up 36% of the electorate. If parties were smart, they’d be on the ground registering those who typically don’t vote. CPC over 50% is a mirage. Over 60% of the population does not vote conservative. It’s an untapped voter base.
UCP has ignored the increasing violence towards women in hijabs. Cursory disapproval of these acts of violence is all UCP has offered to date.
Virtuous thoughts and prayers. Not action to reduce the escalating violence.
Until suggesting pepper spray.
In an effort to appear to be responding to calls for greater action from the Muslim community and the public, Madu writes a letter to the federal government requesting laws be removed banning pepper spray.
Again avoiding responsibility for provision of a safe community.
Is that insulting to those propagating this disinformation? Probably. But I’m sick of being insulted everyday by white “allies” who don’t know anything about identity politics, indigenous competition for acknowledgement and truth.
Insult gains attention to an important issue.
Minister Bennett has been a tireless advocate for indigenous people for 24 years. Not just since 2012.
Bennett’s advocacy has been consistent and vocalized since she was first elected to parliament in 1997. So minimizing her contribution is a flag this article is BS.
