Last week, @banklessDAO and @indexcoop released the $BED Index

33.3% $BTC
33.3% $ETH
33.3% $DPI

I think the $BED index will be the best performing index of all time πŸ“ˆπŸš€

🧡here's a thread on whyπŸ‘‡
The $BED Index is an asset that tracks the #bankless thesis:

Non-sovereign SoV monies and permissionless financial applications are theπŸ‘entireπŸ‘pointπŸ‘of the crypto revolution

The $BED index gives you precise, upside exposure to this new paradigm
$BTC and $ETH are the *only* crypto-monies that this industry has.

In order to be a crypto-money, you must be:
- A layer 1 asset
- decentralized, trustless, permissionless
- credibly neutrality in monetary policy

No other assets check these boxes.
It's likely that no other asset will *ever* become a crypto-money

Everyone knows this industry is lucrative, so no other asset can be credibly neutral in its launch or monetary policy

Any new crypto-money will benefit privileged insiders rather than a decentralized community
Therefore, $BTC and $ETH are here to stay.

Forever.
$DPI is the 'finance' component of $BED, and it is the part of $BED that *updates* as this industry evolves

The #DeFi apps of yesterday are not the DeFi apps of today

And there are DeFi apps not even conceived yet that will likely become extremely valuable!

$DPI captures this!
$ETH has an interesting role in $BED because ETH is also an index of #Ethereum!

EIP1559 ties the Ethereum application layer to the value of $ETH, meaning that as #DeFi grows in size, $ETH becomes more scarce!

$ETH: 50% money, 50% finance

Hence, "programmable Store-of-value"
$BED gives you *equal* weighting to both crypto-money, and crypto-finance.

$BTC: Money
$ETH: Money & Finance
$DPI: Finance

$BED is 50% money and 50% finance.

$BED is the #bankless thesis, but as an asset!
Some other reasons as to why $BED is so compelling:

$BTC and $ETH and inherently long-term hold. They are the crypto-monies, and they always will be

$DPI gives you access to #DeFi, without having to do heavy research or portfolio re-weighting, also making it a long-term hold
$BED allows you to have a balanced index of three long-term hold tokens

- Gas costs for portfolio reweighting is done by others
- Portfolio simplicity because 16 assets are condensed into 1
- tax-advantaged, because you don't have to do the buys/sells to re-weight your portfolio
Due to its simplicity and the inherent nature of its long time horizon outlook, $BED will be a compelling asset for collateral in #DeFi apps!

Also, the lowest streaming fees of all Index Coop tokens!
So what are you waiting for?

Get into $BED!

The @Uniswap V3 "x*y=k" animation from @pplpleasr1 was just purchased for 310 ETH ($525,000)

The buyer was 0x067b9Bbbbc42d2AB9b9Ab6bB62646dAF7F344A76, a DAO formed for the sole purpose of forming capital buying this NFT

an NFT SPAC, if you will πŸ€―πŸ€‘πŸ’Έ

foundation.app/pplpleasr/x-y-…
The crazy amount of #Ethereum symbolism behind this NFT is a crazy short-story to watch!

Even crazier @pplpleasr1 says she & Uniswap is donating all $0.5 to charities supporting AAPI and other minority representation!

.@VitalikButerin *just* wrote about this in his most recent blog post

"Some institution (or even DAO) could "bless" NFTs in exchange for ... some portion of the revenues goes toward a charitable cause"

The $ETH Ultra Sound Money Thesis πŸ”ŠπŸ¦‡

This 3 word meme is the result of 12 years of applied crypto-economic research in both cryptography *and* economics

I wrote a 6,000 word thesis in @BanklessHQ:

newsletter.banklesshq.com/p/ultra-sound-…

But here's the Ultra Sound Money thesis, in a thread:
ECONOMIES

All economies exhibit the same fundamental structure.

- The Coordinating Body (the leadership, government, or β€˜party in power’)

- The Economic Power (the productive output of the economy)

- The Protective Force (the army, militia, or defense force of a Nation)
Economies produce value, and are therefore desirable; Therefore, they must be guarded!

If economies are not sufficiently protected, then some other powerful entity will capture it!

Governments coordinate power of an economy, and directs some of this power into Defense Spending

On @bankless: ULTIMATE Guide to Balancer Smart Pools

Typical @BalancerLabs Pools have FIXED parameters, but Smart Pools have their variables UNLOCKED, are much more flexible!

- Tokens
- Weights
- Swap Fees

...are now adjustable parameters!

bankless.substack.com/p/the-ultimate…

πŸ‘‡thread
PUBLIC Bal Pools have SIX key parameters:

- Tokens
- Change Weights
- Change Swap Fee
- Whitelist LPs
- Max Deposited Value
- Pause Trading (can u guys pls stop trading)

In order to be TRUSTLESS, all public Balancer Pools LOCK these parameters, as a rug-pull prevention tactic.
On the other side of things, PRIVATE Pools have all six parameters completely unlocked.

This gives the deployer maximum control to suit their needs!

BUT, @BalancerLabs restricts providing liquidity to these pools to ONLY the deployer, as they are the opposite of trustless!

I just published "A Bankless Nation, Part 1" in @BanklessHQ

bankless.substack.com/p/a-bankless-n…

Bitcoin and Ethereum. What ARE these things?

They're blockchains... but not just that
They're currencies... but not just that

Bitcoin and Ethereum are Digital Nations.

ReadπŸ‘‡
Nations are composed systems of many different independent parts.

Nations are tools or scaffolding for economies. They are the means for the people of a Nation to cooperate and communicate.

We have seen many different types of nations come and go through time!
Nations are organisms.

They are creates with internal organs. They are concerned with their own survival. They live in a place of scarcity, and must compete for survival.

Like all things, Nations emerge, mature, age, and then eventually die.

My talk at @etherealsummit is now available on YouTube!

The article that this talk is based is now also on my Medium!

And all of this content is summarized in this thread

Ether: A New Model for Money

2/
Ether, as an asset, is not well understood. The narrative around Ether, what it is and how it’s used, is constantly changing.

Ethereum is constantly changing as well, so this makes sense. This is an attempt to define Ether as an asset
