I can't believe these whiney wuss quitters at the Olympics. Why, back when I was nearly co-captain of the JV bowling team in '83, we wouldn't DREAM of asking Coach Kramergesic to take a breather just because of a severed spinal cord or beheading
BREAKING: Uncle Rico drives van to Simone Biles's house, demands refund, launches into tale of how he toughed it out in the '82 Class 2-B state quarterfinals
Just to be clear I wish Simone Biles well, and to let her know that according to my latest financial records she owes me nothing
Personally I haven't watched a minute of these Olympics, and probably less than an hour of the previous 2. They all kinda seem like a weird anachronistic artifact of the Cold War anymore
For me, the greatest Olympic moment will forever be Gabe Kaplan's stunning come-from-behind victory over Robert Conrad in '76. A-B-C! A-B-C! A-B-C!
One thing I've discovered on Twitter is that mocking people who talk about their high school sports exploits is often interpreted by people who like to talk about their high school sports exploits as my interest in hearing more about their high school sports exploits
*Corollary: you can see this same effect after tweets mocking people who talk about their weightlifting ability or top speed of that one car they used to have
Back in HS I used to bench press my '74 Pinto that could do 168 mph after I put headers and glasspacks on it, but then it caught on fire and crushed my head after my 93rd rep. But did a little crushed incinerated skull keep me out of the big game against Shelbyville? NO WAY
The latest Vegas odds have "cower" as 250:1 favorite, but hey, who knows, maybe ol' Fetal Ball Burge is finally due

I vehemently dispute Welch's "good person" slander

I'm actually a nasty old antisocial hermit IRL, but IDing old cars helps me control the symptoms. There are surprising therapeutic benefits to tweeting about stuff that brings you joy rather than stuff that brings you anger. Some of you should try it sometime
I don't know if IDing some rando's grandpa's 1946 Hudson counts as "making the world a better place," but it makes me feel like Albert Schweitzer compared to the average account on this godforsaken garbage site

Hear me out on this: the Big TwENty
I think Texas is still a much better fit for the B1G culturally / academically than the SEC. Apparently UT and OU approached B1G at same time as SEC, but OU's lack of membership in AAU nixed a twofer offer.
AAU membership is a baseline for B1G membership, which narrows down to these possible expansion candidates:

P12: USC UCLA Stanford Cal UA UW UO UU CU
B12: KU, ISU
ACC: Pitt UVa UNC Duke GT

Not sure non-Confederacy states are a good brand fit for the SEC

First African-American football player at Alabama: 1971

First African-American football player at Michigan: 1890

In a shock to absolutely no one, this whole thing is being brokered by ESPN

1970 Bertone Lancia Stratos HF Zero on a... Home Depot rental trailer? (ht @TheMightyLo) #DavesCarIDService

I can't believe that put that car on a $70/day rental trailer from Home Depot, when he could have saved $20 at TSC or a tow dolly from U-Haul
After a bit of digging I've discovered there are a few replicas floating around, but the original (which I've seen up close) sold in 2011 for ~$1 million. Even a replica is serious money.

Yes kids, back in the day you didn't go to the food truck, the food truck came to you - and nobody did it with more panache than Helms in LA. Their 1930s delivery fleet was specially made by Twin Coach of Kent OH. Helms is no more, but their old trucks remain a visual treat. Image

Let's kickoff today's ID parade with this jaw dropping one-that-got-away: The jalopy with the missing tires here is indeed a 1906 Ford Model K, made Ford's pre-moving assembly line Piquette Ave plant in Detroit. And your family should lament its sale.
