INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE: After decades of neglect, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal makes critical investments across our country to repair and rebuild our infrastructure. Here are some of the most historic parts of the deal:
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will make the largest investment in public transit in history — it will repair and upgrade aging infrastructure, modernize bus and rail fleets, make stations accessible to all users, and bring transit service to new communities.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal invests $66B to eliminate the Amtrak maintenance backlog, modernize the Northeast Corridor, and bring world-class rail service to new areas. It is the largest investment in passenger rail since the creation of Amtrak 50 years ago.
Across the country, bridges are failing and hurting local economies. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will allocate $40B to rebuilding our nation's bridges, the largest investment in bridge repairs since the construction of the Interstate Highway System.
Too often, transportation investments have divided communities or excluded those most in need. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal creates the first-ever program to reconnect communities – investing $1B in planning, design, demolition, reconstruction of street grids, and more.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal’s $73B investment in clean energy transmission is the largest in U.S. history. The plan will upgrade our power infrastructure, building thousands of miles of new, resilient transmission lines to facilitate the expansion of renewable energy.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is the first-ever national investment in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. It will also deliver thousands of electric school buses nationwide, including in rural communities.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is the largest investment in clean drinking water and waste water in American history, delivering clean drinking water to millions of families. It will replace all of the nation’s lead pipes and service lines.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will make the most significant investment in addressing legacy pollution in American history by funding a cleanup effort that will create good-paying union jobs and advance economic and environmental justice in communities hit hard by pollution.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal’s more than $50B investment makes our communities safer and our infrastructure more resilient to the impacts of climate change and cyber-attacks. It includes funds to protect against droughts and floods, and a major investment in weatherization.
Internet is 21st century infrastructure. So just as the federal government made a historic investment to provide electricity to every American — the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal makes a historic investment to deliver reliable, affordable, high-speed internet to every household.
Last (but certainly not least), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will create thousands of good-paying union jobs, right here at home. And — the bill makes sure to require those new jobs provide fair wages and benefits, without undermining workers’ pay in local communities.

Despite the strong economic recovery under President Biden, two once-in-a-generation economic downturns have made the path to the middle class difficult for many young Americans. Here's a #WhiteHouseDeepDive into how the Build Back Better Agenda helps young people. THREAD:
Young people face barriers on the path to economic security. Home ownership rates are at a historic low for young adults, child care for two children costs at least 50% of the median millennial's salary in 47 states and DC, and the climate crisis poses an urgent threat. 2/10
So how does the Build Back Better Agenda help? It starts with education:
- Providing 2 years of free community college
- Lowering costs for low and middle income students at HBCUs and minority-serving institutions
- Raising the maximum Pell Grant by nearly $1,500

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework takes critical first steps to address economic inequities and decades of infrastructure neglect that have disproportionately impacted communities of color.
Here's how the plan will advance racial equity — #WhiteHouseDeepDive THREAD🧵:
Today's digital divide is stark.
Black families are 9% less likely to have high-speed internet than their white peers – and Latino Americans are 15% less likely. Roughly 35% of individuals living on Tribal lands lack access to broadband internet.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will help close the digital divide by bringing down internet service costs across the board and delivering high-speed broadband to every American home -- making high-speed broadband more affordable for all.

Tackling the climate crisis is a core piece of the Build Back Better Agenda. Here are just some of our plans address climate change while rebuilding the economy for the middle class.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework makes major strides. It will shift thousands of diesel buses to electric, create good-paying, union jobs to cap tens of thousands of methane-leaking oil and gas wells, and clean up Brownfields and Superfund sites.
But we need to go further.
President Biden's Build Back Better Agenda will provide tax cuts for businesses and consumers who invest in clean energy technologies and set a clean electricity standard that moves us to a 100% clean grid by 2035.
