stream chat mocking me for listening to music on 1.5x. thought it was a pretty common thing to do
i go up to 2x if i just want to get a sense of a new album or something, to see if i'll like it. just a me thing i am guessing from the replies
be nice, people. y'all wouldn't yell at someone who said they read the first chapter of a book or watched the first episode of a show just to get a feel for if they like it

anyone who thinks pratchett would be a transphobe can't have read any of his books, surely
the dwarves obviously, but monstrous regiment (spoilers) is about a group of women who pretend to be men to join the military, & after the war their sergeant decides to keep presenting as a man on returning home. & it's portrayed as a good thing! it makes him happy! lol
the characters are all 'he' in the narration, following the perspective of the MC, and swap to 'she' as the MC discovers they're women. the sergeant swaps to 'she' too, upon the MC finding out, but only til the MC leaves the room, where it becomes 'he' again in the next sentence
one of the enemy types in days gone is 'anarchists.' they act like any other group of bandits except they make little stone cairns (?). you get missions to kill them by the dozens. often no justification is given, it's apparently supposed to be assumed anarchists deserve death
weird because the main character is an outlaw biker type guy who is supposed to distrust authority and dislike the military, but when a character from the military camp calls him & is like "go wipe out this anarchist camp" he's like grr. darn anarchists. with their darn cairns
sometimes he shouts "you want some anarchy, huh?" when he's shooting them. i think the game thinks 'anarchist' is synonymous with 'violence liker'
oddly there is also an apocalyptic violence-liking cult in the game, which makes the evil anarchists seem kind of redundant
thread. very serious content warning for sexual harassment & sexual violence

they post pictures of these women, then say things like this:
if you think both parties are the same, consider this: [a systemic problem that exists regardless of who is in power]
joke clarification for liberals: this tweet isn't saying that both parties are the same in every regard. thank you
clarification part II: okay so the point of this tweet is that people often argue ineptly against the idea of both parties being the same by misidentifying systemic issues as solely caused by one party. it is not saying both parties are exactly the same (see clarification pt I)
when i complain about the lib dems, i'd like to make clear that i mean the party leadership, not the voters or the local-level campaigners, who i'm sure are mostly fine people who earnestly believe in cancelling brexit
the lib dem leadership, though, is absolutely not helping to stop brexit. whether by incompetence or malice, their actions are working towards making sure that brexit happens. as an ongoing example of this, let's look at canterbury
