Politically_NSFW is a subreddit with more than 30,000 members. it’s a place for @reddit users to talk about raping female politicians and political figures

they post pictures of these women, then say things like this:

the subreddit does appear to have moderators, though the criteria for what comments are being deleted is impossible to discern

the subreddit describes itself as “A subreddit for Pics, Gifs, and Tributes to the new wave of objectively hot stars in the political media.”

by tributes, they mean they post pictures and videos of themselves ejaculating onto pictures of the women they post. this user conducts polls to decide who they ‘tribute’ next

these are the sorts of users and comments @reddit is happy to host on their site

@reddit has a reputation for being reluctant and slow to delete this sort of content. you can contact them at reddit.com/report and tweet at them on here to hopefully help speed them along

sadly, reddit's report function appears to expect you to link to the actual posts specifically. i don’t know if there’s a way to report a subreddit in general without having to visit it & see all that awful stuff. if you know a way, please tweet below

sorry to lift the rock on a particularly disgusting corner of the internet here but this sort of thing needs stamping out for good

joke clarification for liberals: this tweet isn't saying that both parties are the same in every regard. thank you

clarification part II: okay so the point of this tweet is that people often argue ineptly against the idea of both parties being the same by misidentifying systemic issues as solely caused by one party. it is not saying both parties are exactly the same (see clarification pt I)

the lib dems are helping brexit. thread

when i complain about the lib dems, i'd like to make clear that i mean the party leadership, not the voters or the local-level campaigners, who i'm sure are mostly fine people who earnestly believe in cancelling brexit

the lib dem leadership, though, is absolutely not helping to stop brexit. whether by incompetence or malice, their actions are working towards making sure that brexit happens. as an ongoing example of this, let's look at canterbury

i encourage people to discuss why political video creators with the most support tend to skew white & male, even on the left. nothing to get defensive about, there. a few thoughts:

a good chunk of it is those societal biases in favour of white male voices that aren't checked at the door. acknowledging something doesn't make it disappear overnight, sadly, even among an audience that would like it to

it's obviously fine to have individual preferences for styles and approaches between creators, but we can't ignore that the sum of these individual preferences adds up to a bias
