@oohussey @VicLeungIDdoc @AbundantLandUse @CanadianPM The feds have no jurisdiction.

And while fed NDP refuse to acknowledge constitutionally assigned jurisdiction, the federal government cannot.

There are a few radical options available.

1. We take to the streets to force UCP to resign. We stay there day & night until they go.
@oohussey @VicLeungIDdoc @AbundantLandUse @CanadianPM The constitutional human right to peaceful protest is guaranteed by the Canadian constitution.

Regardless of UCP provincial policy to restrict peaceful protest, this is a failsafe mechanism under dire circumstances. Of which this qualifies.
@oohussey @VicLeungIDdoc @AbundantLandUse @CanadianPM 2. Or we revolt in protest. Violently. Take over the legislature and force out the UCP from office.

This would trigger the federal Emergencies Act to be invoked. Then the federal government can intervene.

I wouldn’t recommend this option. People will get hurt. Some may die.
@oohussey @VicLeungIDdoc @AbundantLandUse @CanadianPM But it is an option that is available.

3. Another option is for the federal government to ignore the conventions normally observed in the constitution and intervene based on First Nations demands.

Technically, it’s the federal govt’s responsibility to address health of FN.
@oohussey @VicLeungIDdoc @AbundantLandUse @CanadianPM If enough FN demanded federal intervention, that could give the federal government grounds to intervene.

It has already happened once in April 2021 when MDWB First Nations of Treaty 8 demanded assistance from the federal government.

I believe this would be the best option.

Roger has hit the nail on the head! Bullseye 🎯

This is exactly what is happening! Thank you for articulating it so clearly!

The far right has a completely different frame of reference than everyone to the left of them on the political spectrum.
A paradigm shift is required to understand what and why they are doing what they are doing.

Most of us have not considered the AB government is actually trying to harm people. Because it’s unconscionable and unthinkable for a govt to intentionally harm the population it governs. ImageImage
But that is precisely what is happening. And it’s why we are all filled with incredulity and shock as we process the policy Dr. Hinshaw and Jason Kenney announced.

It’s completely insane to those with a democratic & progressive frame of reference and worldview.

Ok. Deep breath!

I am imploring people to accept the fact that UCP is full of Dominionist Christians who either don’t believe in covid (hoax) or believe god will protect them from death and long term illness.
75% of UCP MLAs are Dominionist Christian. That includes Barnes and Loewen.

Every Albertan needs to review, comprehend and accept this is reality.

People need to stop wondering why Kenney and UCP make such awful disastrous decisions and start learning about Dominionism.
Kenney and UCP are installing paleolibertarian beliefs that support a theocratic government that creates social expectations. Evangelical Christian nationalists are the top of the hierarchy, along with wealthy donors. That Venne diagram is seriously overlapped.

I’m unsure if the Canadian public realizes this but Saskatchewan is also turning to personal responsibility to manage COVid.

Is this a conservative COVid policy to thin the herd using the radical extremist egocentric “libertarians” of society to spread a deadly pathogen?
Can this policy choice be deemed a bioterrorism attack by provincial governments on the public?

It fits the definition of bioterrorism.

Conservative govts are holding the citizenry hostage using bio terrorist tactics.

Honestly, how can this be legal? Image
Do we literally have to wait for the governments in question to order police crackdowns on random unarmed citizens before we collectively figure out this has moved from passive to overt fascism? Are people that afraid of the word fascist? It’s a word that describes behaviour.

Alberta children and young adults are under attack.

It’s our collective responsibility to protect the most vulnerable.

We cannot accept the UCP policy of unfettered Delta variant spreading in Alberta.
Timothy Snyder’s first and MOST IMPORTANT direction in his book “On Tyranny” is “Do not obey in advance.”

Everyone seeking to adapt to this policy is obeying a fascistic policy that puts our youngest citizens at risk of sickness, death or long covid.

Stand out.

This is not the time to hide in fear. Make your voice heard.

Dr. Vipond is doing the correct action. Calling out this policy for what it is. It’s a policy of certain death. We witnessed Trumps 600K murder spree. We’ve witnessed India’s catastrophic disaster.

All I can say is I warned people Barnes and Loewen were a distraction.

Kenney isn’t suffering any loss of support. The Churches, liberty & patriot crowd (white supremacists) and business owners have been given what they want. Zero restrictions, no masks. Voluntary compliance.
I said Kenney and his party were performing political theatre.

I wasn’t guessing. The Dominionist Christian community and Rebel media were making threats they would withdraw support.

The UCP base voters pressured Kenney to comply with their demands.
Kicking Barnes and Loewen out of the party served to distract the public, decrease public concern and deflate interest in the topic. Within days Kenney moved to withdraw all covid restrictions and announced he would not reinstate them, no matter what.

I grew up in Edmonton’s inner city. And I mean inner city. For a while I lived on the fringe of downtown, in Parkdale. But moved to 96 st & 106A Avenue after grade five. Went to Sacred Heart church and school. When we moved, my mother had a new boyfriend/common law partner.
In 1977, McCauley and Boyle Street were highly populated with the working poor. Some of the older residents were Slavic (mostly Ukrainian) immigrants. Diversity was abundant. Italian, Ukrainian, First Nations and Métis, East Indian, and Chinese people lived in close quarters.
I don’t remember problems with cultural conflicts. Each cultural group kept to themselves & were polite & cordial to neighbours of differing origins. But everyone was poor/low income.

Except my mother’s boyfriend. He was 20 years older than my mom & owned a construction company.
