I am imploring people to accept the fact that UCP is full of Dominionist Christians who either don’t believe in covid (hoax) or believe god will protect them from death and long term illness.

75% of UCP MLAs are Dominionist Christian. That includes Barnes and Loewen.

Every Albertan needs to review, comprehend and accept this is reality.

People need to stop wondering why Kenney and UCP make such awful disastrous decisions and start learning about Dominionism.

Kenney and UCP are installing paleolibertarian beliefs that support a theocratic government that creates social expectations. Evangelical Christian nationalists are the top of the hierarchy, along with wealthy donors. That Venne diagram is seriously overlapped.

Brett Wilson, Stephen Harper, Ted Byfield, Preston Manning. Those are the people at the top of the hierarchy in UCP’s paleolibertarian dystopia. They decide whether you live or die, have human rights or not, can seek gainful employment or not (depending on gender & sexuality).

While there are several POC in UCP, many of them are Dominionist Christians. Or they agree to support the agenda in order to corruptly profit.

I have yet to find a UCP MLA who is honest, compassionate and trustworthy. And that’s not because of partisanship.

It’s because they’re corrupt.

How many have done the right thing for their constituents? How many represent the needs of constituents who did not vote for them?

Name me one and prove me wrong.

Dominionism is a political movement that hides behind Christian dogma to install corrupt policies limiting privilege to the wealthy & mostly white Christian Nationalist community.

Fringe supporters include white supremacists without religious overtones & hard core libertarians.

Their plans are to dismantle public institutions and make them privately owned. Law enforcement, criminal and civil law, healthcare, education, public services.

They also plan to maintain a skeleton public service that’s been picked to the bones of resources.

They are in the process of dismantling the social support system. Drug coverage for seniors was the start, and it includes the removal of drug injection sites.

Anyone requiring public support and services will be denied service eventually because UCP is destroying it all.

How do I know this? Because I’ve researched and studied their policies, think tank literature and the published plan of action Harper used to attack Canadian institutions. I also have researched and studied evangelical Christianity and religious extremism.

Before the Reform Party came along my father became a devout born again Christian and is presently a Watchtower evangelical Christian. I wanted to understand what the heck happened to him. I’ve also studied WW2 extensively. I’m not an expert, but I have researched and read a lot.

Needless to say, I have the background, interest, tenacity, research, documentation, knowledge, and analysis skills to adequately and accurately observe, document and describe UCP and their agenda.

While it may make people uncomfortable to discuss devout religious beliefs and question their validity in a liberalist social democracy, you best get comfortable soon, because that’s what is happening.

Paleolibertarians seek a morally rigid traditionally patriarchal society.

If that’s not what you want to live within, you’re going to need to speak up and be heard. Right away. Because they are currently consolidating power.

Dominionism is a closed social group. So unless you’re one of them, you’re the enemy.

Of course their attitudes and beliefs drift over to white supremacists, Q’Anon and libertarianism. Even encompassing some left libertarianism ideals.

I’ve documented the descent into fascism (because that’s what it is) & there are many threads explaining things in threadreader.

Feel free to read up on what’s happened for the last four years.

But for the love of god, can we stop trying to figure out why UCP is so toxic? That question has been answered. It’s the same reason and strategy US GOP Republicans are so toxic. Far right religious beliefs.

If you examine the base support group of paleolibertarians, they’re all magical thinkers.

They believe the power of their thoughts being able to influence reality.

Many of us have magical thinking. We teach our children about Santa.

Magical thinking is believing one tired old guy in a red suit can shimmy down chimney’s and exhaust pipes to deliver presents to all the children of the world in about 12 hours. Oh, and he lives forever. And his reindeer fly.

That’s magical thinking.

We suspend logic and reason to embrace fantastical narratives by making it real in our minds.

Like believing god punishes you for thinking bad thoughts.

Or that masks harm people even though nurses and surgeons have worn them for decades.

Or that covid is a hoax even though 600K people died from that hoax in the US.

These are the types of people that support UCP. They hang on Kenney’s every word and there is no reason or logic that will alter their thoughts. Because they’re in a cult.

We don’t see these people often because they live in an alternate reality and rarely venture outside of their social group.

But Grace Life Pastor, and other pastors arrested recently and charged are indicative of this mind set. Negating secular law because of the bible.

Putting the entire community at risk of covid infection because of the magical belief that your faith means god will protect you.

If you think those people are the fringe, think again. There are about 15-20% of the population that is Dominionist.

And Kenney just gave them everything they’ve been demanding since May 2020. No more restrictions or monitoring covid, permitting it to spread unmitigated within the community. Putting every child under 12 at grave risk, every unvaccinated young adult in mortal peril.

So that is the reason for Kenney’s policy choices.

What we MUST focus on now is how to remove Kenney and UCP from power before they kill us.

No more wasting time and effort on wondering why UCP is so deplorable. They just are. We need to stop them. That’s the priority.
