NEW: @OversightDems released notes taken by then-Acting Deputy AG Donoghue of a 12/27/20 call with Pres. #Trump & former Acting AG Rosen, revealing attempts by Trump to pressure the 2 most senior officials at the DOJ to help overturn the #2020election or risk losing their jobs.
These handwritten notes of the December 27, 2020, meeting provide additional evidence that former President Trump pressured top DOJ officials to take official action to overturn the results of the 2020 election👇
“- DAG … ‘understand that the DOJ can’t + won’t snap its fingers + change the outcome of the election, doesn’t work that way.’” (p. 4)
“ - P: ‘Don’t expect you to do that, just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen.’” (pp. 4-5).
“‘You guys may not be following the internet the way I do’” (p. 3)

On July 10th, Texas legislators heard hours and hours of testimony from Texas citizens, the vast majority of whom opposed a bill that would restrict their voting rights.
Listen below to what they had to say about this bill⬇️
▶️ Sonia González-Gladstein argues that the bill does, in fact, impair the right of free suffrage for the people of Texas and that it would have the biggest impact on essential workers and people of color, in a state that is already the hardest to vote in, in the country.
▶️ Alexander Montalvo explains how preventing election officials from ensuring Texans get mail-in ballots and banning drive-thru voting and 24-hour voting are voter suppression.
This Thursday at 10 a.m. ET, the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Subcommittee will hear from 3 of the brave @TexasHDC who came to DC to defend the #votingrights of their constituents and of every American.
Watch how our witnesses have already spoken up for TX voters ⬇️
▶️ In a news conference about the Texas Dems' escape to DC, Rep. Senfronia Thompson recalls what it was like for her grandmother to vote, at a time when primary elections were "White Only."
▶️ Rep. Nicole Collier talks about the motivation behind the Texas Republicans' attempts to restrict voting rights and silence the voice of Black, Brown, and women of color voters.
For more than two years, @OversightDems have been investigating the pharmaceutical industry’s pricing and business practices
Today, we are releasing our seventh staff report.
The findings are shocking. This is what we know ⬇️
The staff report analyzed financial data from 14 of the largest drug companies, evaluating how much they spent to enrich investors and executives, the amount spent on R&D, and the potential impact of Medicare price negotiations. bit.ly/3jSu7do
From 2016 to 2020, the 14 leading drug companies spent $577 billion on stock buybacks and dividends—$56 billion more than they spent on R&D over the same period.
"If the Administration moves to a chained price index, by 2030, the poverty line for a family of four would be $691 lower than it would be using the existing inflation index."
-Subcommittee on Government Operations Chair @GerryConnolly
@GerryConnolly "The Administration cannot solve the nation’s poverty problem by simply lowering the dollar amount that defines poverty and claiming victory. The Administration’s efforts disregard the hardships that those experiencing poverty endure. " -Chair Connolly
@GerryConnolly "Given the critically flawed assumptions baked into the proposal, it is no surprise that OMB received over 57,000 comments and counting, most in opposition to lowering the inflation index for the Official Poverty Measure." -Chair Connolly
As current and former congressional staff of Chairman Elijah E. Cummings, we had the great honor and privilege of working with him for more than two decades.
Whether in a hearing room full of Members of Congress or in a quiet conversation with staff, his example motivated us to become our best selves in the service of others. He was genuine.
