SC sought status report of investigation from Jharkhand government through chief secretary and DGP within a week.

SC says the Chief Secretary and DGP of the state would also give details of the law and order situation inside and outside the court premises in Jharkhand.
SC bench of CJI N V Ramana and Justice Surya Kant said that it has come across several instances of attack on judicial officers and lawyers inside and outside the court premises and wants to address the larger issue of safety and security of judicial officers in the country.

On May 17 weather was so harsh that it wasn't conducive for our air operations. From 6:30 am on May 18 our ships went for rescue operations. We saved 39 survivors via air operations & we provided around 400Kg ration and water to one barge: Commanding Officer INS Shikra
Our ships are still conducting search & rescue. We conducted all the operations within limits of the machine. Search & rescue operations are very important mission for helicopters & we do practice this a lot in every 6 months: Captain Dushyanth Purohit
