Michel Gherman, from Rio de Janeiro Federal University's Jewish Studies dept., says that Jair Bolsonaro has been an open Nazi sympathizer during his entire, 30-year political career, citing his public admiration for Hitler and use of Nazi slogans like, "work sets you free". 
In other words, it's ridiculous to see wealthy Brazilian Jews like Luciano Huck who supported Bolsonaro in 2018 feign shock that he just met with the grandaughter of Hitler's Finance Minister.
During his campaign, Bolsonaro was applauded for a speech in which he compared black people to cattle to a primarily wealthy, Jewish audience in the Hebraica Clube in Rio de Janeiro.
Before this thread gets hit by anti-semites, I'll add here that most Bolsonaro voters were Christians and a large base of progressive Brazilian Jews, including "Jews Against Bolsonaro" have been criticizing Bolsonaro's racism and Nazi sympathies the entire time.
Meanwhile, during his 2018 election campaign, as the Guardian was helping elect Boris Johnson by running hundreds of articles warning about Jeremy Corbyn's supposed anti-semitism, it gave space for Bolsonaro to compare himself to Winston Churchill and deny he was a fascist
