After one week, Oak Grove schools identified 6 cases among faculty and staff, 41 cases among students, and quarantined 100 people.
Lamar County School District plans on mandating masks for 2 weeks, then re-evaluating... "the decision to continue wearing face coverings will be based on the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our schools”
The CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics both recommend masks in schools to help mitigate spread against the highly contagious #DeltaVariant.

20 y.o. Neil Patel was an honors scholar at Penn State University from Upper Merion Township. The band member and talented drama student was infected with COVID in March and passed away on August 1, 2021 #SoulsLostToCovid 💔triblive.com/news/pennsylva…
The Patels told how their son suffered severe heart & lung damage in the early stages of Covid, needed more help than a ventilator could provide & placed on ECMO, suffered repeated infections & bleeding & had to have an arm amputated as the virus raged his young body.

Since Freedy’s diagnosis, DuPreez said she has gotten vaccinated, as has her oldest child. She is now encouraging anyone who is on the fence about getting the vaccine purely because of side effect concerns to get it.

The longer the pandemic continues, the more danger to healthcare workers on the frontlines. More than 200 staff members at 2 San Francisco hospitals have tested positive, most in breakthrough Delta infections. nytimes.com/2021/07/31/us/…
Some of the cases were asymptomatic, most involved mild to moderate symptoms and only two required hospitalization. The asymptomatic cases were discovered through contact tracing.
About 75 to 80 percent of the more than 50 staff members infected at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital were fully vaccinated, Dr. Lukejohn Day, the hospital’s chief medical officer, said in an interview on Saturday.
