1./ More baby milk horror. I'm still processing that @tanfrance, a gay man, would enter a commercial arrangement to diss the promotion of breast feeding on the first day of World Breastfeeding Week (it ends today). Let's probe a little deeper into the background.
2./ In this great piece @MorningBrew places Tan France's interview in the context of the marketing campaign which paid for it, run by a baby formula manufacturer. Which dumb company would choose THIS week -of all- to put a line through the word 'breast'? morningbrew.com/marketing/stor…
3./ The answer is a company @bobbiebabyco's which boasts a profile declaring, "the stigma against formula is bullsh*t". But the fact is only 46% of US babies get fed breastmilk exclusively in the first 3 months, as experts recommend. 15% never get any. As far as stigmas go....
4./ Obviously, many women can't or don't want to breastfeed. They have to decide what works for them. Meanwhile tho Bobbie has just hoovered up $15M in venture capital. It says here they launched their first product this year. That's not the full story.👇news.crunchbase.com/news/bobbie-ba…
5./ Bobbie actually launched its first super duper organic, non GMO, European style baby milk formula in the US in 2019 but then disaster hit the launch when the @US_FDA issued this warning ....which wasn't at all alarming.👇
6./ The FDA was unhappy the formula lacked iron and other nutrients US regulations insist on which Germany, where Bobbie originally manufactured its product, does not. And as any fool knows, nobody gets to fuck with the FDA; even those who use bullsh*t in their profile.
7./ Bobbie now manufactures in the US and is totally compliant with regulations. But you have to ask whether a company that managed to incur a safety recall within weeks of its launch should be taking aim at one of the most important public health initiatives on the planet.👇
8./ And you know what's REALLY galling? Bobbie bangs on about stigma but their product is SO damn expensive when @nytimes reviewed the best formulas it didn't recommended Bobbie because it was up to 4 times as expensive as its top picks. Poverty is also a stigma. 👇
9./ Funnily enough, the organic baby milk formula the NY Times DID recommend sports a legend on its website which maybe Bobbie should take a long hard look at. @EarthsBest's opening line is "breast feeding is the first choice for your infant's growth and development". 👏👏
10./ This spat is just another example of how the LGBTQ+ movement has -if you like- "queered" gay men's sense of entitlement. We've lots of things to offer society. One of them is not our genius insights on the nutrition of babies driven by our imagined personal slights.
11./ If you want to read more about the development of baby formula this is a brilliant history. All formulas on sale in the West are safe and nutritious and the result of a series of incredible science breakthroughs. No one should worry about using them. contemporarypediatrics.com/view/concise-h…
12./ And this is reminder from the legend that is @suzanne_moore that women are always being lectured about how to feed their kids. In the end whatever kids ARE fed they almost all end up surviving and thriving; as no doubt Tan's will too. dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…
13./ Oh and here's that review in the NY Times....of best baby milk formulas. Brilliant piece of consumer research. nytimes.com/wirecutter/rev…

1./ Question. Should gay men just shut the fuck up about pregnancy and feeding babies? I only ask since @tanfrance is now complaining about breast feeding being prioritised versus baby feed formula. OMFG how fucking entitled have gay men become?👇news.yahoo.com/tan-france-bri…
2./ This is a note perfect example of the gay "rights" movement selling out to corporate interests. What @tanfrance ignores is that for decades (DECADES!!) activists campaigned against baby feed formula's over-promotion in developing countries. 👇independent.co.uk/news/world/pol…
3./ It's estimated that baby feed being foisted on mothers in developing countries is responsible for 800000 deaths of infants every fucking year ....babies who would not die if they were fed breast milk. But yeah how very dare they prioritise breast feeding....girlfriend. 🙄🤷‍♂️

1./ Why are our political elites SO obsessed with gender identity issues, and trans rights? One answer comes from Malta, the LGBTQ+ movement's poster child, where an inquiry has just accused the tiny nation's entire political class of enabling a murder. 👇theguardian.com/world/2021/jul…
2./ Ever since the election of a Labour government in 2013, Malta has pioneered radical LGBTQ+ policies including Self-ID of gender. Malta's adoption of such policies was sold as the new global benchmark others should reach. Uncritical plaudits rolled in.👇time.com/4597632/malta-…
3./ But had these policies really been thought through? When journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassinated, in 2017, leading politicians were accused of involvement and being linked to gangsters. Did the LGBTQ+ movement or its "allies" pause for thought? What do you think?

1./ Who could have seen this coming? A middle aged woke influencer with a huge profile on a video game platform is arrested on child rape charges only a month after the game made a hullabaloo about LGBTQ+ Pride. Has inclusive got a bit too inclusive?👇nypost.com/2021/07/29/pop…
2./ Police in Brazil claim Raulzito used his instagram account to lure boys whom he promised fame and fortune. He streams for the game Frontline who last month announced a fetching series of LGBTQ+ characters and emblems with a nice child-friendly feel. 👇epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US…
3./ Raulzito may be innocent in which case no one will ask questions of the owner of Frontline, Epic Games, which only has a turnover of $27Bn so couldn't possibly be expected to ensure child safeguarding instead of sucking up to the rainbow-haired.👇 theverge.com/2021/5/3/22417…

1./ If anyone should know Sex Matters it should be @LSHTM. Yet in a serious case of Gender Identity infection it recently urged staff to use gender neutral language. Queer Theory claims biological sex is fluid and irrelevant but SEX is fundamental to much of the School's work.
2./ We know this from the School's excellent Centre for Maternal Health. MARCH is dedicated to reducing the "10 million new-born, child, adolescent, maternal, and stillborn deaths" every year. Women's reproductive biology is of course its central focus. lshtm.ac.uk/research/centr…
3./ Sex is also at the heart of the School's famous work on mosquito borne diseases like yellow fever, zika and dengue. It also houses the library of Sir Ronald Ross, who discovered malaria is transmitted by mosquitoes; a process rooted in biological sex. lshtm.ac.uk/research/libra…

1./ On Tatchell and his TOTALLY unambiguous condemnation of paedophilia. People asked me to retweet today's thread without the break. So here goes. Read the first tweet here👇then I've reposted the others in order.
2./ Here's his letter from 1997. Peter's conducted a none too subtle edit of his own. Today, he claims he wrote it is "impossible to condone paedophilia". In fact the letter says it MAY be "impossible to condone". Rather a telling difference you MAY think; and it gets worse.👇
3./ The letter describes a book which "challenges the assumption that all sex between adults and children is abusive" as courageous and cites "distinguished anthropologists" who document societies where "inter-generational sex is considered normal, beneficial and enjoyable". 👀

4./ He mentions Gilbert Herdt, an expert on Papua New Guinea but in 1997 there was another expert on that country who was on the front pages whom Tatchell failed to mention. He'd just been charged with child sex offences. 👇 nytimes.com/1997/02/19/us/…
