Studying voting machine vendors and election security is fascinating for many reasons. One is that so many people spread misinformation about it, including the GOP (obviously), but also people I thought I cld trust as a Democrat. 1/ link.medium.com/9Gz0l3VbGib
In fact, my studies of the voting machine industry and election security made me fascinated w/ the nuances of misinformation, including how easy it is for someone w/ a fancy title to fool people even if the person w/ the title is not an expert on the specific issue involved. 2/
Also how constant repetition can make a lie seem believable. And how difficult it is debunk lies once people have fallen for them. 3/

Rs want this. They want public school teachers to quit & they want public school kids to use vouchers to flee to private schools (many of which require masks). Banning mask mandates in public schools is the latest weapon in the GOP’s long-standing war on public education. 1/

This is an overly simplistic quote. There are absolutely situations where a forensic examination of election systems is warranted. For example, the DHS shld have conducted such an assessment of Durham County, NC’s malfunctioning e-poll books immediately after the 2016 …. 1/
… election because the intelligence community had learned that the vendor, VR systems, had been breached. Instead, it waited almost three years, which was wholly unacceptable. 2/
We must not react to Trump’s lies by pretending that systems are more secure than they are or that only crazy people would have concerns. We must not back ourselves into a corner where we cannot examine questionable results bc to do so wld make us look like hypocrites. 3/
