For now just noticing your thinking they are being 'purged', while most of us see it as liars being finally denied access

Not that lies are being purged, but the very few that threaten to undermine & erode the foundations of society.

This sentence, while true, from my pov, I recognize is

@tommy_pane @tfamerica3000 3/ a difficult one. Requiring a great deal of context, awareness, comprehension, and perhaps most essentially, an a' priori devotion to truth.

People are not being purged for holding & propagating an idea, but for being profoundly dishonest, & devoted to something other than

@tommy_pane @tfamerica3000 4/ trying to find the truth, or at least a commitment to the commonweal.

And yes. this is the hard thing to even define, much less agree to.
I'll notice this for now: People are being told to stop lying.
As far as I know it is only Twitter that has actually taken any

A few thoughts re this complicated subject:
1. No one is getting silenced, even if they are denied access to twitter. There are many other places where these voices can be, and are, heard.
2.

@tommy_pane @tfamerica3000 6/ 2. You seem to agree w those, like Trump and others who squeal the loudest that their 1A rights are being violated, when they are finally judged to be so far out of bounds they have to be denied access to spout their toxicity. (a judgment I know)

These are hard calls/issues.

@tommy_pane @tfamerica3000 7. But the historical examples, as well as contemporary patterns are august, and demand attention.

This may be the essence of the gap (canyon) between the sides, including, as representative of these sides, you and me.

I suppose we'll give it a go.
