The Taliban has taken control of the governor's headquarters in Qala-e-Naw, the capital of Badghis province. NDS HQ also falls to the Taliban. Weapons & ammunition captured by the Taliban. Significant surrender by pro-government soldiers. (ht @Natsecjeff)
Aforementioned howitzers seized by the Taliban were older Soviet howitzers, not American. Thanks @PacAnalytica!
Following the capture of Herat, the Taliban took control of multiple military airports and captured numerous aircraft including an allegedly operational Su-17 and Mi-24. (ht @JulianRoepcke)
The Taliban has seized a slew of U.S. weapons in a compound in Afghanistan. Massive amount of weapons taken. (ht @Natsecjeff)
Ginormous weapons cache discovered by the TB.
Since there's some confusion I'll specify.
There's American guns there, but that doesn't mean that this was an American position. It's likely that these weapons were provided to the Afghans that once held those positions. They leave/surrender/whatever, TB gets the loot.
Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Department Director of the Publicity and Information Department of the Workers Party of Korea (also sister of Kim Jong-un) has released a statement on the joint U.S.-South Korean military drills.
"The U.S. and the South Korean Army started joint military exercises further aggravating the unstable situation despite the unanimous denunciation and rejection at home and abroad."
KYJ calls the exercises an "unwelcoming act of self-destruction for which a dear price should --
be paid as they threaten the safety of our people and further imperil the situation on the Korean Peninsula."
KYJ says that the "diplomatic engagement" and "dialogue with no strings attached" pushed by the Biden administration is "hypocrisy to cover up its aggressive nature."
NK official Kim Yong-chol, released a statement joint U.S.-SK military drills.
"As we have already clarified, we will make them realize by the minute what a dangerous choice they made and what a serious security crisis they will face because of their wrong choice."
"They must be made to clearly understand how dearly they will have to pay for answering our good faith with hostile acts after letting go the opportunity for improved inter-Korean relations."
"It is clear that there is no other option for us as South Korea and the U.S. opted --
for confrontation with our state, without making any change."
Kim Yong-chol concludes the statement by saying, "We will keep going on with what we should do."
Just discovered a rotting potato that had snuck its way behind a cupboard and I am no longer capable of functioning, that is the worst smelling thing on the entire planet without a shadow of a doubt. Pray for me.
