Depression, anger at poor services, and frustration are common emotions in almost all municipalities under the control of the ANC.
Public services are crippled. Raw sewage flows in the gravel streets of poor black areas. Uncollected garbage everywhere.
1/2
And yet mayors are driven in German cars surrounded by security guards. Young Tenderpreneurs live a high life also in expensive cars.
At their favoured drinking spots mainly Blue label dominates. Take 1st entry into Bethlehem from Warden or Reitz.
2/3
Drinking spot is about 600m.Young unemployed girls hover around with wine in their hands. Every Saturday. Nearby stench of uncollected garbage swirls.
There are no employment opportunities. The munic is the main employer.Tenders are fiercely contested
3/4
This is a common feature of ANC controlled munics. Budgets are used to serve the township elite through corrupt tenders. The ANC has no other purpose. Corruption is now pervasive. The mindset everywhere is that munic budgets belong to the party.
4/5
This mindset and conduct is the essence of prebendalism. It prevails at all levels of government.Internal resistance to reform within the party is about maintaining the status quo. @CyrilRamaphosa and @GwedeMantashe1 have confirmed this resistance. What next?

Pretorius to the President; How do you explain the appointment of Mahlobo as Dep Minister despite the serious allegations in respect of SSA?
"I will await the outcome of the report of this commission to assist in what next"
Here lies a distinguishing feature between a bold and visionary leader and a seriously tentative one. In the aftermath of the insurrection, the sacking of Dlodlo, Mahlobo and others would have attracted massive popular support and lifted his image.
He is now comforted by the logical incrementalism advocated by J P Landman. A treasonous act was committed. Credible evidence pointed to lapses or connivance of leadership of SSA and others. Anywhere else they would have been sacked or worse.🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️

Political parties are formed on the pursuit of a vision and some shared policy positions by members. That was the case for the ANC-Led Tripartite Alliance until 1994 when their vision of winning state power was achieved. Since then the alliance has been
defined by internal battles over policy choices to meet the needs of the growing poor that have been neglected and exploited through the apartheid era.Even the NDP has been contested with no agreement in sight. They have no agreement on vision a for SA.
They can therefore have no alignment on policy choices for social upliftment and growth. They are reactive to demanding situations in a dynamic context. When the pandemic struck, the economy was already in ICU because of policy incoherence and incompetence.

South Africa is in a crisis.!! But when the President is evidently not in control of the critical security cluster as Commander in Chief, then we are in a substantive Constitutional crisis. The country expected him to have sacked
Dlodlo, Cele and Mapisa Nqakula more than a week ago. Their incomprehensible negligence of duty has led to a destruction of KZN that could only make sense in a state of war. Yet there was no war.The signs of what could happen were predictable and predictable.
But they were ignored. This is treasonable.
But clearly the ANC is blocking the President from sacking them. This is because the ANC is not properly structured to govern effectively.
The President is shackled. And yet he's publicly committed to unite the ANC.

I see many people preach about the need for good governance at all levels in our society and state system. This is good
But the key driver of good governance is to instill a practice and discipline of high performance under ethical leadership.
However this fundamental change will require visible policy change and practice from the highest office. This will remain our biggest challenge as it will disrupt the culture of the governing party. Plse read:
thabangjmotsohi.com/the-unending-s…
The outcomes we desire will not occur in the immediate term. The culture of impunity and patronage in the governing party has very deep roots. The unity and renewal that Ramaphosa has committed to achieve will extend way beyond his term.

The loss of jobs as result of the wanton pillage for past few days must leave you numb and at a loss for words. Is this what the planners wanted?
The losses come at a time our economy is devastated by the pandemic. The pain and effect will last very long.
If hunger was a primary driver for the mass looters, who primarily live in shacks, why then were the corporate and black businesses destroyed? Where will the jobs come from? Why were blood clinics looted? Why the radio transmitters, why the schoos?
Why manufacturing plants like Dunlop? Why small chemists that are are a lifeline ro the old and infirm in all residential areas, especially black townships. All these defy understanding unless;
1. A sinister and evil force intended to create chaos.

#SecurityCluster
I've earlier argued that we've been betrayed by the security cluster. Here's why:
1. On the day the CC delivered the order for incarceration, they should have known that it was unprecedented and could inflame uncritical minds of his followers
2. A simple strategic risk analysis should have revealed and concluded that immediate and visible preventative measures should have be rolled out.
3. Strategic national feeder routes should have been flagged as potential targets for creating chaos.
4. This would not be new. Past demonstrations have targeted Mooiriver Plaza. And it would have required no more than 20 SANDF members to send a frightening message
5. Shopping malls would also be primary targets. Here also the SANDF should have been deployed.
