2. I contributed to this piece. My key point is this: “If a large proportion of our political leaders experienced this - especially early boarding, which creates emotional fragility - then does that mean our country is led by emotionally damaged people? If so, we ALL suffer.”
3. My colleague @SimonPartridge is also quoted. Simon co-authored with me the set of articles on ACES & attachment published this summer. He said this: “Boarding school created attachment problems & could lead to PTSD.”
4. PTSD. PTSD. “Psychopaths” is another way some of t older pupils are described in @NeilMackay article. Some of those “older pupils” could be in our government. Right now. Making policy on Universal Credit, Afghanistan, childcare funding. Their trauma affects US, not just them.
5. The consequences of childhood trauma ripple & ripple & ripple. We do not yet take it seriously enough. We find it difficult to gather the courage to truly look upon it. I thank @NeilMackay & all who told their stories in this article. You help us find the courage to SEE.
