Like all the great Generals of history, Khalid Bin Waleed (RA) also had a knack of picking great deputies. Zarrar bin Azwar (RA) was one of them.
He accompanied Khalid from Ridda Wars to almost all the major battles

After Ajnadayn, the decisive battle of Yarmouk was fought against the Byzantines in Levant, Zarrar registered similar feats of bravery and skills. His ambush of Byzantine Army in Wadi ar Raqqad decided the fate of battle.

Zarrar (RA) was a risk taker, a daring soldier who often threw caution to air, so he got captured by Byzantines in the "Battle of Eagle Pass".
In came the other legend, his sister; Khawla Bint Azwar (RA). She led a swift raid freeing her brother from captivity.
