Lessons from Karbala : A Thread🧵 ImageImageImage
▪️"Kullu yaumin Ashoora" Everyday is Ashoora.

▪️"Kullu ardhin Karbala" Every land
is Karbala.

▪️The day of Ashoora is the day when Imam Husain(a) gave everything
he had to save the message of Allah.
He showed us we must be ready to sacrifice all we have for Islam.
▪️Imam left Madina to defend
Islam and to protect
the sanctity of the Haram of Allah,
showing ummah the Right from
the Wrong. In this effort his family, men, women, children, young
and old were with him.
As his true
followers we too must work together to spread Imam’s
message.
▪️In Karbala Imam Husain(a) called
out “Is there anyone to help me?”
This call is for us too, and is valid
even today, to rise up against
injustice and baatil (falsehood).
Each time we obey Allah’s commands, we are responding to our Imam’s call.
▪️When we say salams to our Imam,
we bear witness that he established
prayer. As his Shia, it is our duty to
say our namaz regularly.

▪️Our Imam fought against evil (taghoot, fisq, fujoor) &
falsehood. We too must support truth & fight against evil to seek
nearness to Allah.
▪️The Ahlulbayt(a) suffered every hardship in their lives to save Islam.
We should keep their love in our
heart and show our love towards
them and the supporters of their
mission today by following the
example of Ahlulbayt(a) and their
teachings.
▪️Imam Hussain(a) asked us to remember him whenever we drink
water. We should say salams to our Imam & the martyrs of Karbala
when we drink water.

▪️We learn from example of Hz Hurr that it's never too
late to repent.
We must be sincere
in our efforts to change ourselves
.
▪️We should keep the message of Imam Hussain(a) alive through (ma’refat, taqwa,) obedience to
Allah, baseerat, majlis, matam,
azadari, all the good deeds by
following and implementing his
teachings in our daily life.
▪️We should get rid of all cultural, ritualistic additives which harm the spread of
the Islam of Ahlulbayt(a) in the
world.
As his Shia we should aim to
be a momin in the real sense.
Honesty, courage and fear of Allah
should be part of our nature.

The Sermon of Imam Sajjad(a) in Koofa : A Thread 🧵
Imam Sajjad(a), though so ill
and weak, was bound in heavy chains and
made to follow on foot. The heads of the martyrs were carried on spears. Soon they reached the outskirts of Koofa.
The governor, Ibn Ziyad, ordered that family of Imam Hussain(a) should be taken through streets of Koofa. The people had been told that a rebel had been defeated by Yazeed in Karbala. They
came out and climbed on
to rooftops to get a glimpse. There was widespread celebration.

Why do Shias mourn for Imam Hussain ibne Ali(a) ? : A Thread 🧵
During Moharram, we remember the sacrifice of
Imam Hussain(a) to save Islam. A majlis not only
commemorates the shahadat of Imam Hussain(a), but it also keeps Islam alive. We cry over the martyrdom of Imam Hussain(a) because the Holy Prophet(saw) also wept for Imam Hussain(a).
All our Imams showed by example that Aza-e Hussain must be established. The 4th
Imam Sajjad(a), never ceased crying for
martyrs of Karbala all his life. Imam Raza(a) organised majlis in
the court of Mamoon & encouraged poets to
recite marisa for sufferings of Imam
Hussain(a)

Journey of AhlulBayt(a) from Karbala to Koofa : A Thread 🧵
The heads of the martyrs were severed and carried on spears. The 4
th Imam in chains and the ladies of the Ahlulbayt(a)
, without their veils, were taken as
captives on the backs of unsaddled camels from Karbala to Koofa. Their arms
were tied with ropes behind their necks.
Koofa was the city where Imam Ali(a) had once ruled. When the Ahlulbayt(a) saw the walls of the city, they were reminded
of the time when they had once lived
there as the family of the ruler.

Did the Shias of Kufa killed Imam Hussain(a) ? : A Thread 🧵
Kufa was a city established in year 17th, 18th or 19th Hijri. When the people after the killing of Caliph Usman, unanimously gave the oath of allegiance to Imam Ali(a) in the year 36 Hijri, he decided to change the capital of Islam from Medina to Kufa after the Battle of Jamal.
With the efforts of Imam Ali(a) and his true Shia, like Ammar Yasir, Malik Ashtar, S’as’ah b. Shohan etc., the true beliefs of Shiasm began to be propagated amongst the masses. But a large number of these companions were martyred at the Battles of Jamal and Siffin.
