Embrace your feelings like a sailor embraces the wind:

Time and time again you see twitter accounts say

"control your emotions, control your life" (Or something similar)

We're not robots, emotions should be embraced

Not sure what I mean? I'll explain
👇👇
//Thread//
Wind and Sailor Analogy:

Feelings are like the wind in a sail for a sailor

You need the wind to navigate

1. If you resist, you will lose complete control

2. If you let it overtake your navigation, you will end up at a different destination than you want
You need to work with the wind in order to navigate to your desired destination.
How To Use The Analogy:

You must be aware of your feelings and work with them

They are as much a part of your life as the wind is to a sailor

1, Ignoring our feelings results in a loss of control – you tend to realize this loss of control when you reach your maximum tolerance
2. You cannot let your feelings overtake you

For example, you may not like helping a someone, but you know it’s the right thing to do and you'll feel happier for it

You might not want to work out right now, but you know it will feel better in the long run
You have to navigate our feelings to get to where you intend to be

They are your guide, so you must be aware of them and get a true understanding of them in order to make the right decision
In short

Do not ignore your feelings. Ride them like a sailor rides the wind

Let them help guide you, but do not let them take over
Share the message that emotions are to be embraced

So full of life until the very end

She taught me how to live life to the full

Here are some sayings she would always say, the stories that are connected to them and what she meant by them

This one was hard to write

//Thread//
1. "People are people"

Story: During WW2, my nan was sent to the countryside. A German prisoner killed a snake and said "I save you"

He was meant to be the enemy, but showed kindness

Lesson: No matter a person's background, how they treat and act is what matters
2. "It's not what you know, it's who you know"

Story: Wherever Nan frequently shopped from, she would always get to know the manager or boss

She bypassed a lot of problems and got great deals

Lesson: Knowing the right person will give you better options and access
