Afternoon/Evening #Caldorfire updates and alerts thread begins here:

ALERT: Spot fire identified SW of Grand Point on the S side of NF Cosumnes, just N of SF of Cosumnes. Approx 1/2 acre grass burning. Helos dumping now. See purple. While...

...this spot fire is likely to be controlled quickly with the air drops, and crews just N of NF Cosumnes are pleased with progress today, the location of this spot is a reminder of the loooong slow march this front is making to the SW.

UPDATE: Followers of this thread report they are *in* Division A Section 17 and they do not see smoke. This is contrary to the pilot that reported the small grass fire. Want everyone aware there is conflicting info here (and thanks to the residents for jumping in).

Sunlight being filtered through the swirling smoke makes it look like there are flames on the Sierra at Tahoe cam. #caldorfire

ALERT: Fire has again crossed 50 to the south and is threatening Camp Sacramento. I have no indications structures been damaged at this point. #caldorfire

Here is a grab of the text residents are receiving from the sheriff's office. Again this is an evacuation ORDER for Meyers and Chrismas Valley. This does not include South Lake Tahoe.

Will have to wait until tonight's ops maps are published but it appears areas in the S/SE saw fire move 2-3 miles.
