Also fun fact: Ida replaced Isabel as a TC name when it got retired. Should Ida get retired, that means all Female “I” names on the Atlantic naming list as been retired twice.

And now, onto June 2021 where we also have some wild weather stories to share in our latest #WxWrapUp! (1/7) Image
#Tropics: The South Atlantic blew us out the water with a strong subtropical storm in the winter of the SHem. Raoni formed & strengthened to a windspeed of 60mph, the strongest since Eçaí, & the strongest pressure wise since Hurricane Catarina '04. Such a rare event. (2/7) ImageImageImageImage
Other than that, the ATL was busy with 3 systems, Bill, Claudette, & Danny. Claudette caused some significant damage to the south with 14 deaths (deadliest tropical storm in US since Fay '08) & bringing a few tornadoes (stated in a later thread). (3/7) ImageImageImageImage
