UPDATE: NE, Last sat pass showed the fire at the S side of both echo lakes, the west side of Atwood road, and stretching south on the west side of the ridge off echo summit. This is an outdated look and there is a reason for this:

ALERT: While visibility has improved on the E/SE side of the fire, the winds are now too high for helos to operate in this area. The E/NE continues to have too much smoke for any air ops here.

ALERT: CalFire chief confirms fire is *in* the Tahoe basin and is at Aloha lake, N/S Echo Lakes, and it's "caught up on the ridge above the basin" near echo summit. This is the clearest picture we have had today on exactly where the front is.
