ALERT: E, embers continue to rain down on Meyers. Crews seem to have a handle on this spotting but it's a tenuous position. #caldorfire

UPDATE: SE, Fixed wing tankers have joined the fight on the western flank of Thunder Mountain near Kirkwood. #caldorfire

ALERT: N, just west of White Hall along hwy 50 crews are pulling back to safe zone due to fire activity increase. This is between plum and bull creeks. The pump house here is fully engulfed. Helo has eyes on crew to ensure safe exit.

ALERT: SE, Fire activity increasing just to the N of Thunder Mountain, NE of Kirkwood. Some torching is leading to spot fires here. Air drops continue. #caldorfire

UPDATE: N, crew who pulled back to safety zone all made it out okay. Again this is hwy 50 just west of White Hall.

UPDATE: SE, Fire has come within less than a half mile from the northern shore of Silver Lake. It does not appear to have touched the campground here at this time and crews report gaining more control on this side of the mountain. #CaldorFire

@knw1969 has video of what appears to be ash falling from the sky on the other side of the Carson Range east of South Lake Tahoe.

ALERT: N, new spot fire identified near Wright's Lake. Ground crews have requested a fly over to get a better understanding of size and scope. #CaldorFire

ALERT: W, rekindle flare-up on hot line on NE side of Northern finger. Structures in imminent danger. Air ops moving in. #caldorfire

UPDATE: E, ridges above Lake Tahoe Basin are now experiencing sustained winds of 30 mph. #caldorfire

UPDATE: W, hot line flareup can now be seen from Danaher cam. Location near Sly and Camp Creeks convergence. Helos already dripping. #caldorfire

UPDATE: W, 15 structures are in immediate threat from this flareup, which has grown to an acre and is slopping over dozer line.

Kirkwood base is requesting over 20k feet of line (hose), fuel, and other supplies "immediately." I caution I know nothing more than this request.

An injured bear has been located behind a building near 89 and 50 in Meyers. The bear has suffered burns and animal control is on their way. #CaldorFire

UPDATE: N, more dozers, engines, line (hose) and other supplies are being sent to DP 23 for staging. This is near Lovers Leap at hwy 50. #caldorfire

ALERT: E, In Meyers new dozer lines are being cut around neighborhoods on the E side of Pioneer trail. The goal is to protect these areas from the crowning fire in the hills and ridges just to the east of here. #caldorfire

UPDATE: W, new flareup on the western front looking good. A few more drops and should be under control. Structures no longer in imminent danger. #caldorfire

UPDATE: E, more hot shots arriving in Meyers area for structure defense. #caldorfire

UPDATE: N, this is the approximate location of the growing spot fire which ground crews requested air support on (purple x). Air drops are taking place now.

Fire above Meyers is likely near the ridge just below Freel Peak by now. There is concern among crews of fire crossing the ridge and entering Heavenly. The resort has been using its snow guns to spray water all day in preparation. Purple arrow for approximation.
