@Hadithoftheday Paternal uncle and Foster brother of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. A woman named Thaubia (Sobiya), had nursed both of them.
Sayyidna Hamza R.A was given the title of Sayyid-ush-Shuhadaa (The Leader of Martyrs) & Asadullah (The Lion of Allah).

Hamzah R.A knew saber fighting, could perfectly fire a bow, and was a lion hunter. He was known as “the strongest and most fearless Quraysh.”

@Hadithoftheday Allah brought Hamzah R.A into the ranks of Muslims in a different way, using his innate sense of justice and dignity and intolerance towards people who persecute weak and defenseless.

@Hadithoftheday At the very beginning of 613 CE, after returning home from hunting in the desert, Hamza R.A learned that the idolater Abu Jahl attacked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He learnt Abu Jahl persecuted and insulted , Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and he silently endured insults. +

@Hadithoftheday Enraged, Hamza R.A rushed to the Kaaba, where Abu Jahl was sitting with his comrades, and hit him in the face with a mighty blow.

@Hadithoftheday When Abu Jahl jumped to his feet in fright, Hamza R.A told him: “You are only brave against the weak. Try to hit me! I believe in the One God as well as he does, now, try taunting me! ” Abu Jahl staggered back in fear.

@Hadithoftheday While Hamza R.A, leaving the Kaaba, asked where he could find the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was told: “In the house of Al-Arqam.” Hamza R.A immediately went there and there, having pronounced the shahadah, reverted to Islam.

@Hadithoftheday When the idolaters learned that Hamza R.A adopted Islam, they stopped openly attacking Muslims, fearing retribution from new member of the ummah. Hamza RA,whom everyone in Mecca feared,carried out his service honourably & unfalteringly to the very end,as a brave defender of Islam
