IN THIS THREAD: Since the January 6th riot is treated so seriously, we should refresh our memories about the January 2017 riot against Donald Trump's inauguration, as well as June 2020's George Floyd situation that went down in DC.
To begin, here's Obama's people the day he had to give a speech acknowledging Trump won in November 2016. They look like happy campers! time.com/4566547/white-…
In the aftermath of 2016, at the 2017 Electoral College certification, Democrats REPEATEDLY protested on the grounds of "RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA." cnn.com/2017/01/06/pol…
But back then, the media treated the obstruction as TRENDY and COOL!
The main concern was Russian collusion. Turned out there was none.
That didn't stop the Democrat machine from creating a paradigm where it became normal not to honor whoever became President of the United States. npr.org/2019/03/24/706…
In the days leading up to Inauguration Day 2017, the far left group called "Disrupt J20" planned to ambush a group of Trump supporters gathering together for a "Deploraball" party, the night before.
Despite the intervention, a group of anti-Trump protesters surrounded the building where the Deploraball event was being hosted.
This was the first time "modern" demonstration tactics played out in the streets.
Let's see what happened that night.

🚨THE DAMAGES from January 20th 2017, Inauguration Day of President Trump.
On May 29th 2020, "Trump took shelter in White House bunker as protests raged." apnews.com/article/donald…
His critics at the time LAUGHED at the former President for doing that. But what about now, considering January 6th?
Probably won't change their minds.
May/JUNE 2020 matters for January 6th, 2021.
DC officials point fingers at each other about what went wrong with police/National Guard positioning during the Capitol riot, but what we CAN say is that the Summer of 2020 influenced the choices made. nbcnews.com/news/crime-cou…

(05/31/2020) (DC) "One of the last things I saw before retreating. Riot police were blocking off the roads around Lafayette Square Park and funneling people back to that area. Batons in use, not just shields. Vehicle on fire further down the street."-- via twitter.com/ellievhall/

... it was at night when things got CRAZY.
As you can see by the fact that DC Mayor Bowser had to order a CURFEW and activate the DC National Guard.
In May/June 2020.

^ LET'S debunk the tear gas thing real quick. “the evidence did not support a finding that the [U.S. Park Police] cleared the park on June 1, 2020, so that then President Trump could enter the park.”

(That's why things were contained! Imagine that)

In 2021? The establishment decided that wasn't ok anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Go figure.
