Well, it’s a biological container, a connector for each and every single organ and muscle.
If you were to dissect a cadaver, fascia is literally a greasy, slippery mess, and importantly, different for each and every individual.
A key principle is that fascia is ultimately all connected, there is no separation from your toes all the way to the top of your skull.
And the magic of this fascia is that every single cell in your body is hooked ( and responds to) this interconnected tensional environment.
Why is this important?
Well, it changes (or at least should) the way that we approach the biomechanics of human movement:
Stretching, foam rolling, strength training, and movement need to be examined through an entirely new lens.
Areas that we usually identify individually: your biceps tendon, plantar fascia, quadriceps, etc are just labels for singular areas. THIS IS AN ILLUSION.
We cannot and should not treat these as separate structures or in isolation. This webbing connects the ENTIRE structure.
Consider that information again. Every single organ, every muscle, every nerve hangs in this interconnected web. “Floating” in this integrated unit. And this is where the traditional medical system fails, time and time again.
Western Medicine treats in isolation: What's missing?
•Force transmission
•Fascia can and will become “stiff”
•Nervous system feelings will influence this fascia
•Effects locally, joints above and below
•Nerves and blood vessels arrive insulated by these fascial sheets
You can stretch the hell out of a muscle or nerve locally, but if you never zoom out and appreciate the complex network that may twist or impinge upon these groups, you may never actually solve issues that your body may experience.
What’s more, is that we have identified myofascial meridians. Think of them as mega highways that work together to bring integrity and structure to the function of the body.
Imagine a restriction along this highway. New patterns and compensations form causing pain elsewhere.
We apply these concepts in regards to equine locomotion (right @LyssKnobbe? ). Rather than looking at individual muscles, these muscle's tendons and ligaments form continuous lines.
Don’t allow your healthcare practitioner to treat you without considering this complex system. We are finding more and more individuals with a holistic approach. A few accounts you should follow below:

This topic is near and dear to us. We work with clients that the traditional medical system has failed. They’ve tried physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, etc and all failed.
And then they are told to take medications or invasive surgeries, altering their bodies forever.
The problem with today’s medical system is that doctors are using new drugs, surgeries, and devices to combat symptoms, rather than the root cause.
However, we are pioneering a new approach geared towards holistic care.
If you yourself have been let down by the traditional medical model, we understand. We have been there. But there are natural ways to heal your body. Do not give up hope. We offer a completely free assessment and specialized system.
Time for some Sunday motivation to prepare us for the week.

More importantly, see how you can too.

The Golden Spice: Turmeric
Turmeric is native to South Asia with over 133 types of species. India is perhaps the country most associated with turmeric. It has a distinctive yellow color and flavor and cannot be missed.
As an antioxidant, turmeric extracts free radicals and increases antioxidant enzymes, all while being an antiinflammatory agent. The effects don’t stop there, turmeric also inhibits mutagenicity (mutating cells) and possesses anticancer / antitumor activity.
A GUIDE TO HOT SAUNA COLD PLUNGES - CONTRAST THERAPY
// A Thread //
Contrast therapy? This refers to the combo of exposure to heat and cold to elicit physiological responses.
The use of contrast therapy can be found globally: traditional onsens in Japan, plunge pools/sauna in Nordic cultures, to sweat lodges of Native American tribes.
Regardless of methodology, the ‘stressful’ exposure to freezing cold and scorching hot temperatures has been proven to dramatically improve a number of health and wellness factors.
Many are familiar with the “hot sauna cold plunge” which we will focus on today.
