The appointment of acting MOH Dr. @strauss_matt is indicative of the Local Region's rebuke of @PublicHealthON. The Local Board was well aware of Strauss' views. His appointment was a message against the use of deadly lockdowns. Cont' #onpoli #cdnpoli

(2/13) Dr. @strauss_matt is uniquely qualified. He's an ICU physician and an Assistant Professor at Queen's Medical School.

His only "sin" was a professional disagreement over the efficacy and use of lockdowns, given the harm and deaths they cause. Cont' #onpoli

(3/13) All of us, including doctors, are allowed to express an opinion. Even if it's unpopular and even if it's wrong. Especially since the imposition of lockdowns was unprecedented and lockdowns were never part of Ontario's planned pandemic response. Cont' #onpoli #cdnpoli

(4/13) Of course, @strauss_matt was right. Under age 50, the increase in deadly overdose alone was 3x than Covid deaths. Excess mortality <65 is 4:1. This is before adding deaths from increase in suicides (due Nov), 260k delayed surgeries & 1M cancer screens missed. Cont' #onpoli

(5/13) But led by politicians, the Covid Thought Police attacked the local appointment. Liberal House Leader @JohnFraserOS got it started. @StevenDelDuca emerged from his bunker to say that if @fordnation doesn't veto the appointment he'll be "ignoring science". Cont' #onpoli

(6/13) In a typical fashion, @celliottability and @fordnation joined the Covid mob. The worst came from @DorisGrinspun, head of the @RNAO. Like a school yard bully, Grinspun invited her #CovidZero crew to join the attack on @strauss_matt. Cont' #onpoli

(7/13) Together with Anthony Dale at @OntHospitalAssn and the Teachers' Unions, @DorisGrinspun & @RNAO were the most influential proponents of lockdowns and the main reason for their continuation. But why the concerted effort to derail @strauss_matt's appointment? Cont' #onpoli

(8/13) Simple. It's an attempt by those responsible to re-write history & suppress emerging evidence of the deadly harm of lockdowns. @fordnation, @JohnFraserOS, @DorisGrinspun, #COVIDZero et al are scared of being on the side of the deadliest disaster in ON history. Cont'#onpoli

(10/13) Decent people in Ontario & everywhere must prevent self-interested politicians, public sector union leaders & TV doctors from escaping responsibility for the harm they caused. History must judge fairly the lockdown catastrophe. It started w/@strauss_matt. Cont' #onpoli

(12/13) Whether @strauss_matt's appointment stands, it reflected the public's view against lockdowns. @JohnFraserOS & @StevenDelDuca are now against local decision making they claimed to champion. @fordnation, @DorisGrinspun et al must pay the political price. Cont' #onpoli

(13/13) Regardless of what happens Monday, we must not let those responsible re-write history. We didn't know better during 1st lockdown, but the 2nd & 3rd were deadly disasters and the biggest public policy errors in ON's history. Dr. @strauss_matt is a hero. Pls RT. #onpoli
