I am SO ANGRY about the misinformation being spread about COVID. I didn't realize just how angry I was until I watched a local teacher die (via social media) over the past few weeks 1/9

A 40 yo elementary PE coach. Surprise, surprise, he wasn't vaccinated. His wife and friends spent weeks asking people to pray for a miracle and encouraged people to form a relationship with Jesus if they didn't have one already. NOT ONCE did they mention getting vaccinated 2/9

They prayed and prayed that he would be "God's miracle on this earth." Now that he's gone, she's posted how thankful she is that he has brought so many to Jesus. NOT ONCE has she mentioned getting vaccinated. 3/9

Any mention of his vax status on local news posts about his death is met with immediate outrage. "Now is not the time to discuss whether he was vaccinated!" When will be the time? When can we call this death what it is? A needless death that was 100% caused by disinformation. 4/9

This is the fault of people in a position of power. @RonDeSantisFL is culpable. @FoxNews is culpable. @RepMTG and her ilk are culpable. Celebrities like @NICKIMINAJ and @joerogan are culpable. 5/9

Somewhere the ideas of "personal freedoms" and "personal accountability" have been completely dissociated. The social contract is gone. We're left literally BEGGING people to save their own lives while they call us sheep and put our children in danger 6/9

Again. This is the fault of people in a position of power. People lying about their vaxx status while convincing others vaccines are unsafe. (@TuckerCarlson) People promoting Ivermectin and Bactine and whatever nonsense, non-science treatment they're promoting 7/9

We don't have a massive platform, but our platform and influence is not insignificant nor do we take this position lightly. What we say in this space matters. We're a pillow company, for f*ck's sake, and we have more personal accountability than our governor! 8/9

I know I'm not alone with my anger. With my absolute exhaustion over *gestures broadly* everything. WE HAVE A WAY OUT. WE HAVE A VACCINE. And I encourage anyone who reads this to FIGHT BACK against disinformation. We can't let this virus win 9/9
