Was watching #CLEvsKC #KCvsCLE & realized that there's more accountability in sports broadcasting for athletes who make mistakes than for politicians who led #USA into criminal, brutal wars in #Afghanistan #Iraq & elsewhere.
The @Browns punter mishandled a snap, & @Chiefs got ball deep in Cleveland territory & scored a touchdown. Immediately, broadcast feed focused on the punter, I assume so that angry Browns fans could see if he felt sufficient shame that his mistake cost his team dearly.
Meanwhile, as people in #USA go without because the government doesn't have enough money to meet their basic needs, as its military murders people in Somalia, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, etc, the media completely neglect the politicians, generals & pundits who
told us this was all a good idea. Worse, many of them are rewarded & promoted. Athletes who screw up - let's berate them at the post-match post conferences. Maybe we should have a katana on the sidelines so they can commit ritual suicide right there on the broadcast?
War criminal politicians, military officers & their cheerleaders in the media? Meh. Let's forgive & forget.

I'm as big a hater as the next hater, but even I want @DjokerNole to win @usopen #tennis championship & complete the calendar grand slam.
#1, no man has accomplished this for more than 5 decades. Rooting against Novak at this point is like rooting against the next interplanetary rover just because you don't like the nation which launched it. This is an amazing, inspirational feat. Let's hope Djokovic can do it.
#2, yes, Novak isn't as polished & smooth as Federer & Nadal. But 99% of humanity aren't as smooth as those two. I love @RafaelNadal's honesty, openness & humility. I love @rogerfederer's grace on the court & ease navigating the press & corporate sponsorships & everyday life.

Just watched @BreakingBad for 2nd time. In no particular order, some things I don't understand.

Spoilers ahead
Why does Walter tell Lydia that he poisoned her with ricin? Couldn't she then get treatment?

Is ricin poisoning untreatable?

Or would Lydia rather die than face scrutiny of an investigation into her attempted murder?
After killing Fring, how did Walter kill the guard at the laundromat to get back in lab? Dennis wasn't running a tight ship!

I am concerned that @DaniilMedwed & @steftsitsipas will wear themselves out in @AustralianOpen semifinal & @DjokerNole will steamroll whoever reaches the final. I have suggestions:
Flip a coin to determine finalist
Have Novak play against Stefan & Daniil at same time. Two on one!

Going through a stack of DVDs I've accumulated in the course of a decade which I haven't watched. I just finished the pilot episode of "The Cleaner. imdb.com/title/tt110397…

"A guy transforms his life by taking control over his addictions and using his story to help others."
Recently, I listened to "The Cruel, Voyeuristic Quackery of Rehab TV Shows," an episode of @citationspod featuring @WideAsleepNima @adamjohnsonnyc with guest @maiasz

I also read & wrote a blog entry about Dr. Maia Szalavitz's book "Unbroken Brain: A Revolutionary New Way of Understanding Addiction." I focused on how my understanding of addiction had been warped by TV & films muslimmediareview.blogspot.com/2020/09/recomm…

I caught the last set & a half of Marat Safin's victory over Roger Federer in 2005 Australian Open semifinal on @TennisChannel. Unbelievable #tennis & drama. Full match here
My impression is that nobody has lost more Grand Slam matches having had match points than Federer. Is that true?
In fact, Federer has a long list of tough losses in Grand Slam matches: this one to Safin, the Australian Open final to Nadal, Nadal's victory in the dark at the Wimbledon final, Novak twice at US Open down match points, 2 5-set Wimbledon finals losses to Novak, US Open loss
