Appearing at this event lends credibility to these people

Looks like this Battle of ideas, looks less like a battle and more like a choir of covid skeptics who are working with those threatening to bring violence to nurses and educators.

Look at the kind of stuff these people are up to, do you really want to be associated with this?

The Spiked crowd are really trying to ramp up anger at schools by spreading letters from campaigns whose websites contain clear disinformation and links to some really unpleasant stuff.

What really pisses me off is that there is a section of #edutwitter which regularly attacks NEU saying the union endorses abuse of teachers on a number of issues ecause particulate comments made by the No exclusions group who aren't part of the union but does have NEU members

They point to the democratically voted call for a moratorium, and despite Mary and Kevin repeatedly pointing out that Safeguarding comes first certain Educelebs keep making out that the NEU would ignore Safeguarding of students and staff

Regular outrage,red line crossed for them

Some will be speaking at Battle of Ideas with the those spreading disinformation, provoking abuse and protest outside schools, others will attend, many will tweet about what a great event it was

This isn't theoretical issues of an exclusion mortitorium
This is happening now

I bet we see no outrage from those Educelebs, they will either ignore this thread or rush to eachothers defense if this gets noticed.

They were adamant NEU should distance itself from NME,now they need to distance themselves from Battle of Ideas

So let's see if they really care about protecting educators and students from abuse or if they were actually more concerned with attacking the NEU?
